Is JL Audio really that good?

I have JL Audio subwoofers and no doubt they are really good. My question is are the JL speakers good enough to pay the price? They are like twice the price of Pioneers. Just want to know what you guys think.

I love my JL-Audio subs, and just upgraded to a JL amp. The quality is some of the best on the market.

But honestly, i have heard a car with JL-Audio components and its sounds very nice.......but I don't think its worth the money. For that cash, you can get a unbelievable set of Infinity components with a powerful amp. Also, you might want to look into Polk Audio components, their sound excellent at a reasonable price.

my new philosophy is that if you can buy something from the good guys or circuit city, it's not high end stuff. i was into all the super loud and low bass. in my civic i had a fosgate 15" power dvc, top of their line, and a 800.2 amp. it easily hit 130 db. for the cl i'm going for sound quality. xtant or zapco amps, focal seperates, and maybe avi subs.

Couldn't agree with you more. JL has a very good marketing department.

There are some great high-end brands out there that are much better than JL that no one know about. Dare to be different.

Amps - Brax/Helix, Synopsis, Lunar
Subs - Adire Audio (check out the Brahma, Tempest, and Shive subs), CDT Audio
Components - CDT Audio, Magnat

I just purchased 2 10" JL subs from Tweeter...I payed $300 they came in the powerwedge box which fits perfectly under the stock nav, so I lose almost no trunk space. I am powering these subs with a kenwood Excellion x201T amp. This is an entry level competition amp....it really performs. I have always ran Punch amps, xtants and kicker z series in the past but I have friends who have had the x201 and loved it. This amp is being phased out this year to be replaced by a new line by kenwood excellion...so Tweeter etc has reduced the price to 200 for amp new in the box. Its peek power is 600 watts.....
Whats so great about this sub/amp combo is you can mount the amp on the back of the power wedge box and access the amp from the back seat. The x201 has a sliding door on the face of the amp that reveals an air induction system and all of the controls....looks really cool. There is also a electric blue triangular power light that illimunates the back seat when the trunk access door is open at night. Not a bad deal for about 500 bucks....I installed my self...very easy. I will post pictures soon

How do you figure that the 1100D would put out 750-1100w at 4ohms?? Sounds a little high...

w0's cant handle much i doubt you push 750-1000 to them without blowing the whole entire cone into your front seat.

Yes you can. I know people that have won at shows with 2 12W0 pushed by 1000 watts.

It says on the JL site that the 12w0 only RMS's at 125watts....thats really shitty if you ask me..at least the w3 is 250rms and the w6 are 300 rms. 750-1000 watts would blow up w0's. I blow up w3's with 700 watts..........................
