JL 8w7

Im thinking of switching from my Kicker CompVR 12 to the JL 8w7. My alpine can throw 375 Watts at it so it should be powered fine. Question is, I'm looking for tighter smoother sounding bass, will I get that with the 8w7? I really want that punchy tight SQ sound, sometimes the Kicker is just too boomy for me. Any one have or heard the 8w7 in sealed enclosure???

does the JL really kick the kickers butt? I've heard my friends L5s in a ported box powered by a 2000w performance technique amp and it hit ssooo hard like gets you in the chest

I don't think we can compare 2000 watts to 375 watts in this case

yes, the 8w7 is that good, even though its an 8. The w7s are extremely clean sounding and can pound. The kicker and w7s arent in the same league imho.

for example, my dad has just 1 8W3V2 ported in his extended cab truck - and it sounds better and hits harder than his previous setup (1 Kicker 10inch Comps). He has about 300 watts RMS to it also. So the 8W7 would be a killer setup especially if you want a nice sound.

keep in mind that hitting hard and soundquality are different, but do overlap, if that makes any sense
