1999 TL stock stereo system ??'s.....need help

Has anyone hooked up just a sub and amp to there factory system? I know its difficult because of it being a Bose system and all but curious if anyone has done it with no problems? There is a stock amp system in the car that up's the output to the speakers so using a high and low RCA converter to an amp I was told can burn up wires or even destroy the amp. So if thats the case wouldnt it be possible to hook it up before the amp unit or behind the stock head unit? Just a guess.

Next question would be where the hell is the stock amp located?

Johnny

I have a CL and I'm not 100% sure on the 99 TL but I just tapped into the factory amp for a signal and added a amp and sub.. I think it was a total of like 5 wires..

Did you check this thread for info regarding your questions ?
