Question Has anyone added a powered sub onto a factory TL Bose system?

I was wondering if anyone has added an aftermarket powered sub onto a fsctory TL Bose System. My TL-S sub isn't cutting the mustard. I know that Bazooka, Kicker, Infinity, and a few others offer tubes and boxes that will work. Has anyone done this? How does it sound? Was the install a do-it yourself or a pro-only type of job?

I agree. The few shops I have been to have been hesitant to even add a sub and amp to my TLS. Should just be lifting up the rear seat, jumping the signal from the deck to the factory amp to your new amp, and just add power and ground and remote wires. Is that is? Should you unplug the power to the factory amp, or just unplug the speaker wires? I would also want to take out the factory sub. Would a high-to-low converter need to be used for the signal going to the new amp?
If anyone has wire color or schematics or anything for the 2002 TLS, I would greatly appreciate it. I would prefer to do this job myself.

Well I just added 2 10" rockford xlc's and and orion 500.4 amp in my 2001 TL onto the stock system and it works fine and makes a big difference. I also left the stock sub connected and used a hi/low converter on the stock sub wires. Did it myself and wan't hard at all. I really feel the difference in bass.

ChinozTL, could you post which wires are which? Color, location, and if you ran new power and ground wires. Right now, I just want to add one 12", with a 300X2 amp.
Anyone, please help. It's appreciated....

I ran new power cable from battery, grounded it to the metal in trunk, ran remote led from behind amp on sub (blue wire) and got the positive and negative from the stock sub and ran it to the LOC. I just tapped into the positive and negative goin to the stock sub output and left it still connected.

It may be possible to increase the amount/tightness of the bass by increasing the amp volume and reducing the pre-amp gain in the head unit. I do not know much about the Bose Amp under the rear seat...I wonder if it has a volume control??

Don't go with the Bass Tube...They are not loud enough for our trunks!
