eq bypass

eq bypass

im installing a new headunit right now and was wondering if i should bypass the EQ? the new headunit has a very nice built in eq with just about every imaginable eq setting. im still running factory speakers, right now any way but will upgrade soon

any imput would be helpfull

If you are replacing the head unit and using a wiring harness adapter, the factory EQ does not come into play. You are taking it out of the signal chain.

i can speak to how the factory speakers sound with just a headunit. there is a noticible difference one the factory eq is out of the loop, and the spk's are given free reign to play full range. That being said they are still stock speakers running off the stock amp, so there are obviously limitations in their performance. None the less i would rate them as equivelant to a low end aftermarket speaker in sound reproduction, and not too bad as a temp solution if you are merely trying to bide time while building a system piece by piece.

how do u pass the factory eq?? if i did that, and put aftermarket speakers it should sound good. right?
