About 95% of the time my bluetooth interface works fine with my Sony T616. But then there's the 5% when the phone and car get into a weird synchronization state. Both seems to be trying to connect, but neither quite finishes. The same problem shows up when connecting to my PC which uses a blue tooth USB adaptor (I sync phonebook and calendar from Outlook), so I think it's just a general problem with bluetooth and/or my T616. Either way, I'm pretty happy with the bluetooth since it's easy enough to work around that problem (just shutdown and then restart the phone).

IMO, I really like to choose your #4 option: "My NON-Acura-approved Bluetooth phone did NOT pair up and is NOT compatible", quite funny. I was ever pairing P800 and P900, which could build the connection btwn themsevles and 04TL, but without HFL profile they're not working. (Someone ever mentioned here months ago that the special firmware update could fix this problem.)
Mine is T610, working ok.

I had a Siemens S56 that worked fine, but gave up on it because the ringtone volume(outside of the car) was too low. It only cost $39 after the rebate, so no big deal. As a replacement I bought a Moto V525 - almost identical to the V600 - an it works fine. As noted elsewhere the battery meter does not display, but I can live with it. The price on the V525 has already dropped at least $50 since I bought one 3 weeks ago, probably due to the availability of the V600.

my 2 cents - i got the cingular T616 which has the bluetooth technology it works great (when it works). not sure if anyone ones has had this problem, and its happened twice. the phone and the car have locked up twice already with the only fix (so far that i found ) to be pulling the ECU fuse. other than that nothing else has worked for me. has anyone else had this issue? what did you do about it?

Jabra FreeSpeak Non-Bluetooth Headset Work with Handsfree???
Jabra make a device to work with non-bluetooth enabled phones. I was wondering if this device might work with the new Acura Handsfree system?
Below is the description of their device and their "multi-adapter."
************************************************** *******
The hands-free, wire-free solution that connects to your wireless phone via BluetoothTM technology. FreeSpeak works with the latest BluetoothTM phones and with many other non-BluetoothTM wireless phones through a multi-adapter. Includes Headset, Multi-adapter, and AC Charger. Multi-adapter is used for non-BluetoothTM handsets that plugs into the 2.5 jack that enables BluetoothTM Wireless connectivity. Multi-adapter also functions as a holder and a charger.
************************************************** *******
I keep hoping because my Smartphone isn't bluetooth enabled.

If I may ask here, does anyone have a bluetooth phone with Verizon? From comments I've received here, this seems to be the best carrier for this area, but there is no local dealer and would have to travel to get to one of their stores. Thought I would ask to see what the good, bad, and ugly, if any, there is on these phones before I make the trip. Any comments or feedback?
Thanks in advance,
Rob

I had this problem once. I pulled over and shut the car down for about a minute. I heard this faint click from the dash. Restarted the car and it connected fine. My T616 had some problems with bluetooth. This is my 4th T616. Now I'm having "Phone" display problem. Actually, all T616's I had in the past, except for the third one had this problem. I had to exchange the third one, because of poor reception. Anyway, I'm trying out my old phone for now T68i. Although, I don't like this phone as much, but when it comes to HFL, it works great.

My understanding is that the P900 doesn't have the Bluetooth hands free profile and will not work with the TL. I understand that it may pair but not actually work. You should check with Mobilezen as he seems to be the guru on cell phones. The P900 is an expensive phone and I hope you didn't buy it just because you thought it would pair with the TL.

Interesting enough, this has been explained many times that the P900 does not work with the HFL...this might be due to the fact that the P900 has a nice sized screen and SE might not want to be held responsible for distracting drivers when answering calls/making calls/msg'ing etc etc.
The P800 / P900 already has speakerphone so why not just find a car mount and use that? That is almost my plan for my future TL. The P800/P900 have picture caller id and some voice commands as well so there is a plus. The only thing people may says is "I paid for bt/hfl in my TL so I want to use it!" If this is the case, get a T610/T630/Z600/K700 (when it is available) and all will be dandy... and I haven't seen a firmware fix for the P800/P900 phones aka UIQ phones.
