Avincar + 10" Bazooka tube set up?

I'm wanting to upgrade my system, but i don't want to go all crazy with subs and amps and wiring and all that. So i was thinking, how about getting the avincar speaker replacement kit, and getting a 10" powered bazooka tube? Does anyone have pictures of a bazooka tube hooked up in their trunk? Bazooka even makes a harness that makes it extremely easy to install.

Also.. anyone else have any recommendations of speaker replacements instead of the avincar setup?

Mostly bad news, avincar is out of business and you won't be able to get the speaker setup.

The bazooka tube is a good solution for those who "don't want to go all crazy", but frankly if you're going to do anything besides JUST add the bass with it, and it sounds like you're interested in a full speaker swap, I'd highly recommend just getting a new amp and speaker setup.

Not a fan of the bazooka tubes, Infinity baselink is better IMO

Replacing the speakers won't get you much without also adding an amp. The stock amp is simply not powerful enough to push 'real' speakers. Think about the small paper oem speakers, they were designed to work with the equally pathetic stock amp. Replacing one without the other won't get you much.

I suggest you be happy with it as it is (with a basslink, of course). If you choose to ignore this, do the speakers and amp them properly. Then it will really kick ass!

Maybe, but I'm really happy with the Avincar 6x9's. It's not the same as a big woofer with an amp, but I guess it comes down to how much boom do you really need. I think anyone would be surprised at how much bass these 6x9's put out.

But more than just quantity, the quality is much better. The bass hits lower and the overall effect is a better sound.

Sure it can. The OEM 6x9s seem to play at a higher frequency, like emphasizing the 100Hz range. A better set of speakers will go lower, especially in a large (relative to the other speakers) 6x9.

However, you can't just slap any old speaker in there and expect it to work well with the stock amp. Some are going to require more power. The Avincar speakers were carefully selected to work well with lower power.

I suggest you be happy with it as it is (with a basslink, of course). If you choose to ignore this, do the speakers and amp them properly. Then it will really kick ass!

Get a basslink if your just looking for some low end. Easy to setup yourself. All you need to do is run a power cable, & a ground connection.
