AVIC-Z1 Bypassed
It was a grueling 6 hours, but I found a way to properly bypass it finally. To get Front Seat Video and be able to enter address for navi while driving. Nothing like I've ever seen.
I'll post pix real soon.

A couple questions about the unit itself,
Are you able to watch a DVD in the front seat when the car is in park before you did the bypass?
Also, could you scan the owners manual that has a diagram of the back of the unit?

^^ Yeah I heard it works on another forum. Good job
You gonna put a switch on your illumination wire?
Or I wonder if you can find a module to send out 3 12v pulses whenever you turn the car on.

Also, I recommend getting an Ipod. The new IB100ii w/ touchscreen interface looks awesome. Plus I heard that even though there is 10 gigs of storage you have to load it by ripping the sounds off of your real CDs. Is this true? I was hoping Pioneer would make it a lot easier than that.

A Pac Tr7 on the illumination wire programmed to send out 3 +12v pulses when the ignition is turned on.
That along with grounding the parking brake wire.
I'm assuming you also had to ground that out too, correct?
