AVIC-Z1 Bypassed

It was a grueling 6 hours, but I found a way to properly bypass it finally. To get Front Seat Video and be able to enter address for navi while driving. Nothing like I've ever seen.

I'll post pix real soon.

Sounds cool definitely post pics How's the Z1?

So, is there just an extra wire on the harness that you have to ground out (Like the D1) ?

Actually funny as it seems I got the Z1's last week. Its weird that we got them already in Canada, and a lot of dealers in the states still haven't received theirs yet.

A couple questions about the unit itself,

Are you able to watch a DVD in the front seat when the car is in park before you did the bypass?
Also, could you scan the owners manual that has a diagram of the back of the unit?

you can scheck out a great thread on it over at avic-z1 bypass

^^ Yeah I heard it works on another forum. Good job

You gonna put a switch on your illumination wire?
Or I wonder if you can find a module to send out 3 12v pulses whenever you turn the car on.

Really? How's the bluetooth? Or do you need an addon module for that?
Also, I recommend getting an Ipod. The new IB100ii w/ touchscreen interface looks awesome. Plus I heard that even though there is 10 gigs of storage you have to load it by ripping the sounds off of your real CDs. Is this true? I was hoping Pioneer would make it a lot easier than that.

Nice, Sounds like that's a possible solution.

A Pac Tr7 on the illumination wire programmed to send out 3 +12v pulses when the ignition is turned on.

That along with grounding the parking brake wire.
I'm assuming you also had to ground that out too, correct?

It somehow knows that if you put in a burned CD that it's a "second generation". If it detects this it will not burn to mp3 to follow yet another lame standard pioneer is following.

Wouldnt flashing the headlights drastically reduce the life of the HID's since their life cycle is based on how many times they are turned on and off?
