Any news about iPod accessory?
Any news about iPod accessory?
I've got an '05 TSX w/Nav...........Of course, I've been waiting for something (anything!) that will just let me plug an iPod into the factory stereo and still keep my XM!
Question.......Wasn't Blitzsafe supposed to have something like that coming to market in July??? Also, anyone have any new information regarding buying an iPod connection kit from Acura??? Wasn't the iPod accessory kit supposed to be available from Acura right about now??
Any help would be appreciated.......

Yeah, I'm in the same boat. Also '05 TSX with Navi & XM. I have a 2 hour commute and listen to books from Audible.com. I've been burning them on CDR-W discs and it's really a pain. I'm dying for a way to plug and play my ipod. My husband doesn't want to void the warrenty though so my options are limited. Any help/advice is appreciated! I live in Los Angeles, I've tried to go the FM route but it's impossible. I'm about ready to just install a tape deck.

much to my dismay, my dealer in NY told me that the ipod accessory is NOT compatible with the 05 TSX. i've been looking for an aftermarket solution but haven't decided on one yet. i wish someone knowledgeable would write up a comparison to the various solutions out there - it's so confusing.

I just spoke with someone from the parts dept. at my local dealer. He said the one for for the TL and RL won't be arriving there until late January, at which time they will get a better a idea of whether or not they can retrofit something to the TSX. I had asked my wife for something (anything!) to connect my iPod for Xmas, but can't figure out what our options really are at this point. I second what Tae says - any kind of comparison of what is available would be great.

Anyway, I am also in the '05 w/Navi and XM boat. I'd love to install something to hardwire my iPod. Please post if and when anyone is successful using the Acura iPod interface on an 05.
I just had an icelink installed. The problem with the XM and the iceLink is the XM sounds like ass when it's connected. Noone has figured out what causes this yet. One way around it is to bypass the audio lines.
Cjams wrote up a way he did it.

I had Elduderino install mine, and it came out great. There is a small rocker switch to bypass the XM so the Ipod sounds good. Switch it back so the XM sounds good.
The install mirrored (for the most part) what is explained in this thread.

Only difference is I use the icelink and he used the Blitz adapter.

i saw a report from macworld that gave a peek at a new solution that looks really promising. it's called spec.dock from 2point5. only thing is that it's vehicle specific (there's a universal one but it's not as nice) and it's not available for the tsx yet. i encourage everyone here to petition for it through their 'contact us' page as i have.
