TL: Another Navigation Question, Out of options need help.
Another Navigation Question, Out of options need help.
Hello all, I am new to the forums as I just picked up a 00' TL. So when I got it the radio and the navigation is asking for codes. Now after hours (not joking) of searching I found I needed to get the serial off of the radio as well as the navi to get the codes. So ok np. Got serial for bot devices and called my local Acura Dealer as well as Honda dealer. They both gave me the same codes for the radio and the navi. Navi is a 4 digit code and the radio is 5 digit code. So put in radio code. Great! radio works great. Put in the nav code. " Incorrect Pin". wth, tried again, nope. Called dealer back and verified the 4 digit code. still gives the "incorrect Pin" error. What am I doing wrong?

All I could find was to either give the serial number,Vin, or look for the B letter and then the numbers(B*************). Some say you might have to contact previous owner/ dealer. Its possible the navi was replaced at one point. Also if you didn't know this the codes are usually in the glove box on stickers or in the owners manual if someone wrote them down.

If I'm not mistaken the navi unit is in the trunk. In this link read it. It tells you how to get to the diag screen and you might be able to reset it.

UPDATE: So i called the local dealer back and got a number for Honda USA (1-800-999-1009) I called them and gave them my info as well as VIN and serial number off of the Nav unit it self. They gave me the same Code. So it seemed i was out of luck. The lady did mention that the pref owner called in about another nav unit with this car with a diff serial number as well as diff code. she said i could try that code even tho the serial numbers did not match. Tried it, it WORKED!! Not sure why the code from another nag unit worked for this unit.
