REF NO. BN410A0
the serial number is : B20618317B

In case the code is wrong, your local Acura dealer should be able to give you the correct code. They might ask for the VIN number of your TL also.

the pin number is set by the user, and has to be reset somehow. the code you received is the navi anti theft code. u either have to try and contact the original owner of the car, or call a dealer and see what can be done.

That's very interesting! Thanks. I was confusing the PIN with the security code.

I just bought a DVD navi unit for my 99 TL and I'll have to ask the original owner for the PIN.

I imagine that there's some sort of reset somewhere. Perhaps it's within the diagostic menu.

I wouldn't even try to guess a combo beyond something like "1234". There are just too many possible combos.

Here's a thread with information on resetting the navigation system along with the PIN:

Good Luck!

The PIN to reset Navigaiton

I called Acura and they said look on the (left) side of the glove box when opened. There was a couple of stickers with numbers! Use the 4 digit one. It works for me, AND it does not ask for it again unless the batttery is detached or dies.

Welcome to the forums.

Your advice is welcomed and accurate but I hope he found it already since it's been almost 2 1/2 years since he posted, but this might help someone who has just encountered the problem.

You're forgetting 0000 is a valid code, so 10,000 possible is correct.
