(99-03 TL) Kicker L7 or CVR and amp

Hey guys, I was just wondering if anyone could advise me on which sub I should get. I already have a Head unit it which ive had for a few years now, a JVC Kw-nt3hdt. I want to either get an L7 (manufacture refurbished), or a Brand new CVR. Both are DVC 4 ohm just in case anyone was wondering which voice coil i would be getting. Also I was wondering if anyone could recommend a good amp I should get for either of these subs. I will be going with only one sub. My price range is around 100-150 for the amp. I'm new to this so if it sounds like I'm an audio noob, its because I am one. I have an 03 TL just in case anyone was wondering.

Hi Johnsaidgo,

It really depends on if you want big sound or sound quality. Either sub can do both, but the L7 is more for big sound and the CVR is a basic run of the mill music listener sub. It also depends on what type of music you listen too. The amp try to find a used Kicker KX600.1 or KX750.1 these are almost matched perfectly to the CVR maybe a little underpowered for the L7 but will still run it good. Also what type of enclosure will you be running? A ported type will give you more boom and a sealed with give you more hit but also takes more power to run the sub.

Those are the two I am trying to decide from. I listen to everything but I mostly just listen to hip hop. I do also like to listen to rock and acoustic songs occasionally. I don't want to just have heavy bass though. I would like to be able to still hear the words to each song, you know what I mean? Like I want to be able to have a booming system, but when i turn down the bass, I can have a normal system with light touch of bass.

I would go with the L7 being they have the CVR 10 bucks higher. And yes I meant the ZX 750.1. Sorry. If you tune your setup correctly it will give you exactly what your looking for.

Kicker is garbage.

You will be buying another sub/amp 2-3 months down the road.
