Question '05 TSX with SHOND3 issues

I just installed the SHOND3 into my non navi TSX 05 with the starmate sirius unit...i am using high quality monster RCA's, issues as of now.

1. getting line noise which is from i dont know where....higher pitched with higher rpm's
2. have to max volume to get good sound, cd's are 50% louder
3. not same bass as with Cd's or factory XM.

-antenna is on trunk lid
-cigarette lighter is running into the center armrest cigarette lighter.
-Sirius mounted in console under HVAC unit, shond3 mounted behind hvac, with xtra RCA's under ECU between ECU and plastic cover.

Any suggestions?

PM or respond with suggestions for making the noise go away or make it louder or as good of bass as the OEM XM or cd's. I cant understand becuase it is hardwired. through the SHOND3

Dude, I am happy to help, and I'm sorry you have problems, but there are threads and threads on this. Have you found them yet?

The FAQ addresses many of these issues. Your post doesn't say which fixes you've tried. GLI? Are you on top of the Airbag ECU?

And I didn't think that the SHOND worked well at all on '05s, which is why we don't sell them to '05 owners here. (Just sent another email to Blitz to verify if my parts shipped yesterday.)

I called today and they said it was still under testing. That was before noon.

Yeah, Blitz has changed their story with me. They now say that the non-XM units will be ready any day and the XM compatible units are "no firm date". : (

Actually, since you are using Sirius, I assume XM isn't connected at all?

In that case, the SHOND should work fine WITHOUT XM connected. It's if you want to keep it that you have issues.

I would check with I'm Batman about your Sirius unit - some had an audio issue. Might be that. He knows the date code. Hey, I'm Batman, does this Starmate have a variable output gain setting anywhere? Or does he need a line driver?

And as far as your noise, check the FAQ, and check if everything is piled on top of the airbag ECU. I kinda suspect the ECU of being the main culprit. Do you have a Ground Loop Isolator anywhere?

No i dont have a GLI YET, but where is the airbag ECU, under the glove box, cause thats where the xtra RCA cable is stored before going back to the sirius tuner, but the SHOND3 is stored right on top of the OEM Amp, behind the box under the HVAC unit...

The Airbag ECU is below the HU and forward of the OEM amp. It's the one with all the yellow wire harness tubing. It generates noise.

With the console open move the SHOND around and see if it makes more or less noise in a particular place.

Where is the Sirius getting power and ground? I would get power and ground for the Sirius from the OEM amp harness.

there is no ground, i am using the cigarette lighter, unless you have better suggestions, how about for the volume and bass issue, it sounds clear, but no bass compared to how it sounds with CD's and not the same volume, fully on 40 with max volume on the sirius and at a OK volume, but not loud.

Can you give me instructions on the wiring for the power? or might someone like streeteffectz help, cause i might be stopping bye him tomorrow...

Based on how this thread's gone so far, you really need to have a pro fix this for you. Go see S/E. This is not hard to fix once a good pro can see what you've done (but look how long it's taken us just to get this far!)

Did you check with I'm Batman about your Sirius to see if it had an audio issue? We've heard about this before with some early Sirius units.
