First time I checked through this thread. I think we can do better than the Nipomo Park listed. It literally just looks like the Baseball field down the street from my house, except this park is just located very much in a residential neighborhood if anything. It reminds me a lot of the Pismo Beach meet. I really appreciate all the effort that went into planning it, but I just think it was a bit disappointing for most of us that got there to find just a simple park, next to some houses.

This place looks like it will be "dead" and boring, not offering much scenic selection for any photo shoots to happen, and even the nearby area seems pretty inland.

The Fresno location on the other hand looks a bit more promising, and very much reminds me of the first Acura Meet. It also had a lake feature and just seems like it's more enjoyable, especially if most of us are going to be driving for a few hours for it.

I really think we can do better and perhaps even be more creative. There are tons of parks or places we can meet at, that I think could be better. Anyway, I vote for Fresno and I'll try to help out as well as I just started reading this thread.

You know what, it wasn't as easy as I thought. I jumped the gun too early trying to find a better place.

I did find some "better" pictures of Nipomo's state park.

It has 3 different group area's. Here is a picture of the Monterey group area of the Nipomo park. It's the largest out of the 3.



Here is Pine, second largest area of Nipomo park.


Here is Eucalyptus, also part of Nipomo park, and the smallest grouping area out of the 3.


Obviously Monterey looks like it should be the area we want to reserve as it states it has a 120 person capacity. We can utilize that parking lot as the main lot and I'm sure the other lots are walking distance within each other and should accommodate everyone.


Here is a rough layout on the distance of each of the lots. Not very far about the length of 2 tennis courts stacked the long side. I can tell that the parking spaces might also be pretty limited, and we may need to reserve those as well if possible.

yea i did miss that post. we could use that large lot for the group shot and just have our meet at the monterey spot.



im going to be making a trip to Goleta/Santa Barbara area in about 3-4 weeks, i could swing by Nipomo and take more pics or whatever if needed.

edit: shit, im gonna need to borrow a camera, cops still have a lot of my belonging from the break-in attempt at my house

I honestly don't care where we choose as long as there are a lot of tables and parking for everyone. It would be nice if there was just one large parking lot where everyone could park instead of having to park at multiple lots.
