was just curious how much this trip is gonna cost gas wise and this is what i came up with...
round trip from my house (hayward) to pismo beach location = 448 miles, im gonna make that 480 miles because im sure we'll be doing a little extra driving here and there so yea... 480 miles round trip. i havent tested freeway mileage on my car in a while, last time was about 1.5 years ago i tested and got around 27-28mpg, im guessing it'll be ~25 now because of the 18's i put on, the sound system i put in, and the 15-20lbs i've gained since then, lol. so......
480 miles round trip @ 25mpg = 19.2 gallons of gas needed
19.2 gallons of gas * $4.75 (87 octane by then, my guess anyway) = $91.20 of gas alone. OUCH.
better start saving those pennies! ive got a jar of quarters thats about 1/3 full with about 40 bucks in it and am hoping i'll have 100 by the time this meet comes around.

That's why some of us who attended last year meet don't mind long distant drive and the cost. Meeting other fellow aziners and cruising there is priceless. I'm sure this year will have so much fun if not more fun than last year.

I think gas prices are going to be a killer when it comes closer to the time.
I know a lot of people do bail, but with the amount of people on the list it will still be a great BBQ meet for those who come!
Hopefully the weather is incredible that day.
