2021 TLX Advance SH-AWD (some issues)

it is a lease. If they replace it with a brand new one, I’ll see about trading it in and getting a different car potentially. You can trade in leases using the payoff amount. That’s what I did with my maxima. I had equity in the Maxima. Trading it in avoided over mileage, any sort of wear and tear, and no disposition fee.

Whether it's Conquest or Incentive, it's only $1000-$2000 off, so what does it really matter? At Acura (on a 2021 TLX 2.0T) both a Tech/SH-AWD and Advance/SH-AWD it was only $1000 off (which barely covered the paint up-charge).
On the A5, we got $1500 off for "Season of Audi". Oh, and we got $3500 for the Accord-V6 (while Acura said only $2000 ... final offer ... like they were doing us a favor).
On the Q5-e (like an RDX, but PHEV, nicer, and with 350hp) ... we got Conquest (Acura) plus we got the $6500 Hybrid Federal Credit (in advance, up-front, right off the top).
So, people can say whatever. I know that while we didn't get the "best deals in the USA" ... I feel we were treated fairly and competitive-ly at the Audi dealer.

Yeah, the Audi leases are said to not be all that competitive. You either want-it or you don't.. However, if they have your perfect vehicle right there on the lot (year, color, trim, addons) ... I think paying 5% more is worth it over "ordering and more waiting".

Also, I'm sure Audis have much more margin to give compared to Acura, especially on a car in its first model year. They have to recoup some of the R&D somehow!
I've found some of the Benz promotions to be pretty aggressive for their CPO's. MBFS made the first 2 monthly finance payments on my used GL450 and that was worth nearly $2k right there!

Mikey319, is there a conclusion to your saga or you're stuck with this lemon for good?

Boy oh boy is this thing a lemon lol. I have a third dealer looking at it on Monday. The other two refuse to do any work on it because I didn’t get it from them which is just complete bullshit. And Acura corporate is useless as well. If it’s still not fixed after this I’m going to get lawyers involved because I’m sick of it. 🤣

true lol. This new dealer has been helpful and very nice thar I was at. They ordered a puddle light (on back order 🤣 and tried to adjust the hood. It looks slightly better but isn’t right still. I need that shit fixed because I’m not happy the body lines don’t line up and it still has a gap.

So...
I picked my car up yesterday. They replaced the backup camera and agree the hood and bumper alignment are not to spec. Acura corporate has yet to reach out to them to hear said confirmation after almost a week now, and that really pisses me off that they move so slowly and don't call on the days they promise. The backup camera is also still becoming a black screen at night. Now that the camera has been replaced and is still acting up, I think Acura needs to dig deeper as to why it is happening. I'm not sure if my entire head unit is just defective (it is very sluggish and glitchy), or is it a software issue at hand, or is it an electrical issue somewhere in the wiring. All I do know is that this one in particular needs to be bought back. To me, not having a backup camera is a safety concern. Especially when backing up at night with (legal as per my state) tinted windows in the rear.
My car at this point has easily been in the shop for 25-30 days total now. So practically of the 7 months I have had the car, I only have had use of it for 6.

On the bright side, only 29 more months of this (or less if you opt out of the lease early)!

So nothing has changed. I still have a lemon LOL. It’s at the dealership right now.
all in all, it’s easily been in and out of the dealer/sitting there for 25-30 days cumulatively since I took delivery of it in December 2020.
- I had the fakra connectors replaced in December and my screen is still flashing black/turning off intermittently and speaker crackling.
- rotors are on back order but are being replaced under warranty.
- rear passenger heated seat isn’t working.
- a trim piece/weather strip on the drivers door is getting looked at.
- my backup camera is still a black screen at night and has been back to the dealer numerous times about it with no luck.
- It sounds like a fan is constantly running under my wireless charger when the car is on (wireless charger is switched off)

Would have been easier for Acura to give you a new car or your money back. You’re using up their service slots too!

Was the engine squeal/electrical noise ever addressed? I skimmed through the entire thread, so I'm sorry if I missed it. I get a similar sound between 1500-2000 RPM under light throttle application or off throttle when coasting/slowing down in that RPM range. It's most noticeable at lower speeds/smoother surfaces because it can be subtle enough that even driving in the rain or having the heat on will drown it out.
Every brand has their lemons, sorry to hear this one has been so bad for you. Sounds to me like you deserve better care and compensation than what you've received.

They have no clue how to fix my wireless pad, for my Apple IPhone 12
Kind of disgraceful, that a $45,000 car cant be repaired, within reason

right haha. Its so annoying, like this is a $50k car. And they absolutely are not standing by their products. Acura client relations was absolutely useless and never call or do anything to try and help either.

for real! I have the 13 pro max and it of course also doesn’t work. I use Apple CarPlay every time I’m in the car, so I don’t really use it to begin with. But it’s the fact that it should work and it doesn’t.

I've got my car at the dealership right now (they kept it overnight so they could drive it more today) to look into that squealing noise and a couple other noises I'm hearing.
It's really too bad you got such a lemon. I've personally had a mostly positive experience with the TLX, enough even that I look forward to getting it back despite getting a really nice 2022 MDX as a loaner, hah. I'll report back if anything notable comes up after the dealer's had their time with the car with the hope that it may help you or others.
