Unfair or not, I'm also taking into consideration the issues you've experienced with your Advance vs what I suspect is a perfectly fine A-Spec.
I def miss the heated steering wheel, heads up display, and automatic wipers. Oooo and the 360 camera. The regular backup camera is decent, but I still like being able to see in front of me as well. I would not have gone with the A-Spec personally. I do like the rims on it much better than the ones the Advance has. I do not like the silver tach/speedo with the red lighting. I prefer the one the other trims have. This loaner is also FWD with shitty tires, so traction isn't the best off the line if I step on it. Granted, the tires on mine also suck and I am going to look into getting new tires on mine once I get it back or if it gets replaced.

I guarantee it's going to be at least 14 days in the loaner as I am sure they do not have their full staff on hand on Saturday's like all the other dealers I have worked at making Monday the 2 week mark.

I just picked it up. They did not do the windshield, they did nothing with the backup camera because they were not able to duplicate it even though I showed pictures of it happening, same with the engine. They did not hear it. Coming out of the loaner and back into mine, the engine is so loud and making noises still. It drives much better after the alignment and wheel balance. The rim is NOT bent thankfully, and no damage to the suspension system. I called my case manager already and left a voicemail letting them know I want to pursue vehicle replacement. I am so over this. It has been 3 freaking months now of this. I am DONE. The dealer in general has been great, but I just wished it was 100%.

They did the alignment, wheel balance, replaced two trim pieces, replaced the lights in the mirrors, and replaced the front rotors. I still don't want this car. I'm still 100% going to have moisture issues, I have the engine sound still, and I guarantee the backup camera is going to malfunction still.

One thing you can do is to share your experience with Acura on social media. This is brand new car and already has so many issues.

Yeah, by the time Fall/early Winter '21 rolls around and the moisture issue comes back, it's far too late to complain to Acura by then.

If you're not able to convince Acura to take the car back soon, I'm afraid it's going to be a keeper for you (until the lease is up of course).

Yeah, I’m waiting for my case manager to give me a call back. I told them I’m still very unhappy with the vehicle and want to pursue vehicle replacement. They should have everything documented since day one (12/19/2020) when this all started after delivery(12/18/2020) of the vehicle.

They didn't mention anything about it. It was either sloppily filled (i hope that's all) or leaking. I will say, when I accelerate a bit like beat on it a tinyyyy bit, it smells a little burntish. I expect that from brand new and breaking it in (i broke it in properly), but I have 3,400 miles now and it still smells burnt. I am waiting to heart back from corporate on Wednesday if they are replacing it or not.

I think I finally have a video where you can hear the noises I’m hearing. Especially the high pitched electrical noise and a constant idk how to describe it noise when accelerating. I didn’t hear any of these noises in the loaner I was in. And I had that for 16 days, even ran it with regular gas and it didn’t sound like this.

Man you're really chill about this. I don't think I'd be able to contain myself after driving 4 hours to pickup the new car and they still didn't fix the issues. I'd probably be going Karen on them. I just don't have the patience I did when I was in my 20s lol

Oh I am fuming. 'm only as calm as I am because it's sad to say but this has LITERALLY been my life for the past 3.5 years. I wish I was joking. LOL

09/2017-2014 Altima 3.5SL. Interior flooded and molded (dealership took it back)
12/2017- 2017.5 Maxima- Body seam leaks, transmission, rattling sunroof (bought back by Nissan)
07/2018- 2018 Maxima- Rattles, transmission, leaking windshield, sensor issues(the car was traded in when I got the TLX)
12/2020-2021 TLX

I was disappointed that Acura corporate did not call me on Wednesday. I left my case manager a voicemail last night asking for a call back with an update for today, so we shall see if he reaches out. I have already missed multiple college classes for these repair appointments, and I can't do this anymore. The most logical solution is to replace the car. I am also disappointed with the seats. The leather is SO loose, like there is extra leather and it sticks up and looks worn, sort of? I saw a 2022 MDX in the showroom with the same seats as mine and the leather on that was smooth and flush to the seat. I will have them replace every damn part on this car until I am satisfied if they don't agree to replace it as a whole.

What you're seeing with the seats is actually pretty common/normal. There are several threads on this on the RDX forums. Here's one.

Maybe it's the moisture ridden interior caused by the windshield leak.

That is very annoying to see. It should not be looking like that on a 50 thousand dollar car. I don't think I will ever be happy with this car. The fact that the seat can look normal (the picture from the dealership i screenshot above) means I will badger them until it looks flush. LOL. I don't want an issue down the road where it wears pre-maturely because it already sags.

wow that's crazy! I def feel it is underpowered at times. And when driving in a parking lot (5-15 mph) my transmission shifts super hard and it doesn't want to go at first. I took even MORE moisture filled pictures of my car the other night. I sent it all to my case manager. They are still reviewing it all. I'll post them here too. it's literally crazy how fogged my windows get. I have wanted to do so many things to the car but have held off because of this. I wanted it ceramic coated, tinted windows, debated on clear bra for just the front bumper and headlights/fog lights, and a piggyback (non flashing) bolt on tune. Now I have at least 5 rock chips and it's just annoying because these could have been prevented if this wasn't dragged out so long.

Dang Mikey.
Maybe put a beacon on top of your car so boats won't run into it through the fog and mist.
Seriously though, what's the latest?

Haha! At this point, let them hit it. My case manager needed more information from the dealer. I sent him my repair order because they had sent him some sort of internal copy and he needed more information. I am very aggravated because when they replaced my rotors, they didn't replace the pads, and now my rotors are warped again because the pads were uneven to begin with. I'm ready to say give me my money and I will take my business elsewhere because I am over it.

Your car is under full factory warranty. The dealership will have to machine or replace the warped rotor(s) and/or pads again and again, until the brakes are working properly.

Absolutely! I just don't want to drive there an hour AGAIN for the third time and miss my college classes again. It is just ridiculous. I just need the whole thing replaced. I am not doing anything else until I hear back from the case manager because I am sick of wasting my time.

Boy oh boy oh boy. Acura at this time is declining the repurchase of my car. I partially blame the case manager that is helping me because they had to take the one that was originally helping me (for 3 months) off as she was needed elsewhere. This guy is totally unaware of the issues I had and how long it took to even get the car looked at in the first place and the discrimination the one dealer (my local one) had against me and how they won’t look at my car or service it at all.

I’m waiting for him to call me back in regards to the “good will” offer. I’m going to call tomorrow because I left him a voicemail on Saturday and haven’t heard anything yet.

On my repair order, the dealer claims they replaced the rubber gasket under my windshield. They did not and the service manager told me the didn’t. My CM read the repair order (even though I told him they didn’t do it and sent in a picture) and sided with the dealer saying they did it and that he wasn’t going to call them back and confront them about lying about it.

I spoke with a service advisor at the dealer I work at and he said they probably won’t want to do it and were advising against it because they’ll most likely crack the windshield getting it out in the first place.

Oh well, not my fault it wasn’t properly installed at the factory.

I’m also fuming because it was supposed to be dropped off Monday and I was going to get a loaner. The service advisor claims she called me and left me a VM to not come until I meet with the parts and service district manager again. I never got it. No missed calls and no voicemails. I have their number saved in my Phone, so the spam filter definitely didn’t autoblock it. Guess who showed up there at 8 am after driving 50 miles one way? ME. Oh I was so mad. I’m now awaiting to hear back when the DM will be back next to meet him there. I’m about ready to get lawyers and sue Acura it only for lemon law, but for my time, needing to miss classes in college for these meetings/drop offs, emotional stress etc, and still having a broken car from day 1 with little resolution. Not to mention the health hazard where mold can potentially grow in my car from the moisture. I’m so livid and done with this BS.

I think what you have to understand is all the dealerships you are dealing with now only "inherited" the problem even though legally they're supposed to help you out. It's a different story if it was the dealership where you bought the car (direct accountability) but that dealer is hours away!

I never want to drive over 1 hr one-way to a job and have the same philosophy when looking for car deals. Take this as a life lesson if nothing else.

yeah I totally agree. Never again hahaha. At my dealership I work at, we have windshield people come in to do work on our cars on the lot and I had them look at mine. They said it will most likely need new glass and of course the gasket. They also pointed out that my hood and front bumper are not aligned. I am so over this damn thing. I kept saying something is wrong with the front because of the wind force I feel and the noise it makes at higher speeds (the loaner car didn't do this) and I am wondering if this is why. Doubtful, but just a hunch.

It’s closer and tighter on this side

The gaps don't appear to be that bad for an Acura. I've definitely seen worse. Anyone hoping for Lexus levels of fit and finish and build quality are going to be disappointed.

That is def a fair statement haha ! My only issue is that this is a 50 thousand dollar car, and it should be damn near perfect. This has been anything but. I think I am going to reach out to lawyers at this point to see if I have a case, because I can't keep driving an hour to the dealer to have it not be fixed.

I was going to echo the same thing. There was a video review of an engineer who used a tennis ball to test the gapping on the hood and was unimpressed by the TLX. Other than that, he was impressed by the car overall.

In the future, I suggest you give the German competition a try. Similar price range (slightly higher?) but less likely to make you think they cut corners somewhere.

German is my go to haha :p I wanted the A4, but the programs were not strong on it at all sadly.

That's what I am hoping for as well. If they replace this car down the road, I am going to trade it in ASAP and get something else and hope there is some sort of equity in it at that point.

leasing programs/incentives. Like the A4 didn’t have conquest etc like the Acura had at the time. And the residual/MF I think was better on this car.
