Downloaded some 5.1 music recently including Alan Parsons Project, Beatles (Abbey Road), and the live final Bee Gees concert. The sound is truly amazing, more so with Neural Surround turned off. More to come, but the process takes some time. The Neural Surround works well with Spotify music. This Sound System truly is top of the heap for sedans.

Been listening to the 1st Fleetwood Mac; (Monday Morning, etc.) Real good
Also, White Album, Abbey Road, Love, & Sergeant Pepper
Man if John , & George, heard them in 5.1, they'd freak out
Nothing like Pink Floyd/DSOTM/Alan Parson's Quad mix: REFERENCE QUALITY
I tell people all the time; if you can't chill to "Us & Them", in 5.1 surround..........

I use Goldwave's Multichannel mixer to boost any low 5.2 channels (boost to "100"). It's the 4th channel on most 5.1 files. But depends on how it was mixed. I do the same for 4.1 (Quadraphonic) files. That adds the missing bass/low end for most files.

2. Correct. I have this from my notes.
According to the SMPTE and FLAC specs, a 5.1 audio file should be:
CH 1) Left
CH 2) Right
CH 3) Center
CH 4) LFE
CH 5) Left back-surround
CH 6) Right back-surround

I found HDtracks dot com to be a great source for 24-bit audio. Some of it is 5.1, almost all of it is classical.
Go figure, but the Pink Floyd and many others that were on DVD-Audio aren't in 5.1
Regardless, they do sound fantastic.
