Hey guys; if you miss DVD/A, & DTS 5.1, surround, this is an upgrade!
Buddy of mine made me about 100-200 songs, from surround discs that sound AMAZING!
My ONLY complaint, is that Apple CarPlay, is disabled; meaning Acura Navigation; (ugh), is the only
infotainment option. But boy; the sound quality is SPECTACULAR
No Waze, Google, or Apple Maps, because the input is singular
I'm a music freak, so for me, it's a Godsend
I begged my dealer for the ELS pre-programmed, USB, to no avail; clueless
Steely Dan, Stones, Eagles, Elton, etc. in 17 speaker surround!
710 Watts of heaven

What do you think of the LFE response? I'm very underwhelmed. I converted my Blue Man Group "The Complex" DVD-A to the USB stick and the bass response is nearly non-existent!
Try Steely Dan/Gaucho, or Kamakiriad; or Fagen/The Nightfly
Dire Straits/Brothers in Arms
Elton/Goodbye Yellow Brick Road
ALL REFERENCE QUALITY!
Remember, the dynamic range for every disc is different
Usually, anything that Elliott Scheiner mixes, is reference quality

I just tried digitizing my copy of Steely Dan Gaucho in DVD-A Explorer and it couldn't get beyond the copy protection.
Of 6 discs I've digitized, this is the only one to be blocked outright.
Unfortunately, someone made my USB for mw; I'm clueless creating them
Beatles/LOVE is also real good, as well as Hotel California, Dylan/Blood on the Tracks
Pink Floyd/DSOTM, Billy Joel, etc.
As mentioned the only downer is no CarPlay; Waze, text, messages, etc.
The TLX Navigation is slow, but functional
Enjoy!

I didn't miss the dual screen setup until the current setup got rid of the additional smart USB port.
If they had kept the previous setup and not opted for True Touch, the 2G TLX would be a 9 instead of an 8 in my book.
I was going to write a review about how this was the perfect audiophile's car until I came across the music via USB or CarPlay debacle.
Has anyone tried / considered a USB splitter? One data port seems like a real brain fart at Acura since they did not include a HD in the infotainment system for music storage.

That wouldn't work. The one port is already having enough trouble negotiating whether the signal is a USB stick vs CarPlay/Android Auto. You might possibly damage or confuse the car if you were to add a splitter to the one smart port.
CPR, don't know if you've seen this thread but it was started by the current resident expert on MCH tracks for Acura cars. Although he owns a newer RDX, it's the same 3D ELS system we have in our TLX! I believe the files in the zip file are identical to the ones in the Scheiner USB stick (if not, then it's an older version but pretty good). Tell me what you think!

The first track is channel identification shout outs, so you can be sure that your Acura 5.1 decoding is working. I hope this file helps some of you to experience REAL 5.1 audio from your car.
This is a zip file, so just unzip it, copy the 11 files as they are to a USB stick and play it in the car. These are all tagged with graphics and titles and are 24/48 zero compression, ready to go for the car.
Sorry, that zipped file is something else and not the Scheiner demo (good surround demo material). If you PM oblio98, he may have the Scheiner material.

Sounds like a good/quality conversion of popular tracks.
Maybe you or your friend could drop the top 20 or so on a Google-Drive (semi-private Folder) for us?
You don't have to keep it online forever (a couple of weeks is fine).
We can alternatively PM-around the unique URLs if you want. I've got some interesting/ unique files to share myself if yall wanna trade.

Holy cows, just copy to my USB and played it before, WOW, WOW. I have a Tech but it just sound so GREAT. Music coming from everywhere, can't believe it, now that is how all music should sound!
Thank YOU
Where could we find to buy these types of files for our cars?

2021 TLX Tech-Package SH-AWD was the one I was originally thinking of buying. I thought the audio system was sufficiently upgraded over Base-model (and something I could live with). I always thought the system in our old 2014-MDX/Tech/SH-AWD sounded really good.
AFAIK, most music is 2-channel (stereo) or 6-channel (5.1 multi-channel). With the use of DSP or hardware cross-overs the available channels can be spread-out or matrixed to more speakers as required ... but it's still only 2-6 channels.
I saw some websites selling music high-def tracks, but they mostly cater to audiophiles (a lot of them just like real-high quality 2-channels tracks). Didn't really see any specifically selling 6-channel tracks.
I have already bought so much music over the years. Since I'm fond of what they call "classic rock" now-days ... I thought I would just make my own. I'm glad you like it and that is sounds good to you. Also, thanks for verifying that it is indeed playing the discrete channels on your Acura ELS system. Yalls reports match with what I'm hearing on my Audi-A5's system. It's specs are:
Bang & Olufsen Sound System with 3D-Sound.
19 Speakers (including the Sub-Woofer and Center)
16-Channel amplifier producing 705-watts
(and the one is the wife's Q5-e is similar)
If they are still online, be sure to get both of the other archives that others kindly uploaded and linked to above.
I might be able to upload some other unique (more multi-channel or even just really high-end 24bit/96Hz stereo tracks ) later on. Thing is, I only have so much free-space on my Google-Drive. Also, notice I included the work-flow I used. I thought it might inspire others to give it a try ... maybe even share a bit so I don't have to create it all myself.
Just to let you know that Fleetwood Mac didn't work, some kind of read error. Again thanks for doing this and when you do it again the owner's here will be very happy lol.
I believe it was just the Fleetwood Mac that he got the error on if I'm reading that correctly.
Possibly.
But that just leaves 4 other FLAC-5.1 tracks (only one of which I actually created myself). The other 3 are actually from the Acura Demo discs (just re-Tagged).
On the other hand, @Moperry said they worked. I'm assuming he tested the The Dance files.

Try a different flash-drive. Formatted as FAT32. Be sure to "Eject it" in Windows before removing from computer's USB port.

I was excited about the Acuro demo and the sound from it that it was just the Fleetwood that couldn't read, everything else played.. Sorry about the confusion, I need to buy another flash-drive and will try it, thank you.

1. So, you got the full archive (2 disc set, someone else uploaded) above?
2. That's troubling. But that was the point ... to see if the files I made would be compatible with yall's Acura-ELS systems. What about the cool Star Trek First Contact Theme? It was created with the same workflow (basically, just DVD Audio Extractor from www.dvdae.com ).
Maybe another Acura owner will chime-in with a report soon.
3. No problem.

Could that be the digital media copy protection kicking in ?
I know that every songs on a copied DVD-A disc will only play the first 14 secs of music, then stop completely.
Kudos for even knowing what a DVD-A (DVD-Audio disc) even is.
But no, I don't think that is the issue, because this is NOT a DVD-A. It is from a Video-DVD of Fleetwood Mac's The Dance (live concert). It's the Dolby Digital 5.1 (AC3) audio ripped from the DVD. So, something different completely than DVD-A. And just an aside ... the DVD encryption was stripped-away long ago to get the DVD's VIDEO_TS folder copied onto my Home Theater NAS.
Let me try again in downloading Mac on a new USP drive and see what happens. Could be me also doing something wrong, I'm not the greatest in doing this stuff lol.
Just checked again and the Star Trek couldn't read also. So its Star Trek and F. Mac that the system couldn't read. Could it be because I have a TLX Tech?

USB hubs dont work. even ones with switches. I have tried both. So I built a small box with a rotary switch with 3 usb's connected. only one is powered and data lines connected at a time. you cannot run carplay and usb at the same time, but all you need to do is is rotate a switch to get to each one. it saves the plugging in and out. the best I can do. I have 4000 flacs with around 400 5.1's that I am not going to give up for carplay, i just want to flip quickly back and forth.
I took them offline.
Only 2 Acura owners posted, and one of those seem to indicate that these 48kHz/16bit 6-channel FLAC files would not play on their recent ELS. I sold my Acura-MDX a while back so unable to test myself.
They work fine for me in my Audi-A5 with Bang and Olufsen .
Thanks for making these "infamous" Acura disc-files available. I found them back when I was still planning to get a 2021-TLX.
So, they are obviously compatible with Acura ELS (version in Acura vehicles around 2006).
I notice that they are 48kHz/24-bit 6-channel FLAC files sampled around 4000-5000kbps . Is it fair to assume:
1. These files (and files created to similar specs) will still play on newer 2019+ ELS/ELS-3D/True-Touch ?
2. Slightly "lesser files" like 44/16bit will also play on Acura ELS?
And finally, have you tried FLAC files on an Acura with these specs (like maybe ripped from a SACD):
96kHz/24-bit 6000kbps 6-channel FLAC files ?
The idea here it to rip-once at max quality for high-end home-theater or audiophile-class ... and then be able to play same files inside the vehicles. Sacrificing a little extra storage space for convenience.

I have a 2019 RDX, so yes these all play on the latest system. The lower bit level is not a problem. I always rip at the highest level. 5.1 files are limited to 48K/24bit for ELS. Stereo can be as high as 96/24bit.
I use a Proclip USA mount, to a RAM ball and arm, to Quadlock mount and iPhone case. I've been using Quadlock cases on my phones/bikes for probably 5 years. Quadlock makes a wireless charging mount, but I think it'd take a little fabrication to get it on a RAM arm. Plus I use the USB connection for music because my Bluetooth connection is spotty.
