Any chance TLXs get the firmware to fix wide-screen support for Android Auto and Apple Carplay just announced with the 25 RDX? It seems like it's 1 full screen, just divided by firmware. Would be a nice feature.
It's locked by firmware and as far as I researched no one broke it/bothered to put resources into it. I too hate it, the right panel is totally useless to me.
Seems pretty unlikely. IMO, if they were going to do this, they'd start with the RDX as there are many more RDXs on the road than TLXs. Since they're officially promoting full-screen CarPlay as a new feature for 2025, that implies they won't be bringing that feature to prior model years. Perhaps in a year or two after the newness of the feature dies off, they'll bless us with an update?
I find it odd that the RDX stuck with the 10.2" screen size but got this update, while the 12.3" screen in the new TLX and MDX don't get it. I suppose their thinking is that the 12.3" screens provide more CarPlay real estate while maintaining the split-screen functionality, and since the RDX is keeping the smaller screen, they threw it a bone by giving it full screen CarPlay.
I know I'm in the minority, but I like the split screen. I like being able to have the full CarPlay map on the main screen and the audio info on the side screen.
No updates sadly. Even the RDX wont get them....not sure why. The later build RDX HAS a full screen option now. was supposed to be a "25" thing....but I've seen it on several later build 24's. Go figure...
Yeah, Acura won't update the 'older' versions. if they did, they would have fixed the TLX years ago! Same old same old....just so odd how SOME of the 24's have it and most don't. I even checked my 23 RDX to see if something changed....nope!
