With how things are going in the automotive industry (not just Honda/Acura), I'd temper my expectations. As much as we'd all love a CTR clone, I don't see Acura going that route and using the nameplate primarily to generate hype and potential sales. When the NSX returned, people were up in arms about what it was, saying it wasn't true to the original NSX. Same went for the Supra being a rebadged Z4. That's not to say neither were great cars, but it wasn't what people were expecting.
Now, if they stick a 1.5T in there with a CVT, I'm leaving a flaming bag of poop on Jon Ikeda's front stoop ....
Well, for the base Integra, ok, but not the Type-S.

That's what I love about Turo. Every time I visit family in MA, I rent a car that I like and get plenty of time behind the wheel.
I had a tremendous respect for Jon Ikeda but feel like he's a Muppet at this point being controlled or he's missing the spark he had.. He knows what to do. He had his hands in the 3rd gen TL production which shattered Acura sales and has yet to break those sales again.

Last year there were rumors about 400 hp sport hybrid Civic typr R, not sure whether they were related to this new Integra but i doubt the way Acura has given up on sport hybrid system.

Really, I can see two outcomes of what the Integra Type-S will be. Basically an upscale Civic that's nicer to drive around (or basically just the level of a Civic Touring with extra performance) that slots in between the Si and the Type-R as far as performance. Or, Acura will YOLO it and get the Type-R engine, not have all the track and suspension bits that the Type-R gets and basically has 95% of the straight-line performance while not being quite as adept in the corners at the compromise of a nicer ride ... and the Integra will likely have a higher curb weight.

I really love the NSX and at some point once I'm done with my house renovation, would like to buy one. I agree with the prices at least when new. Even in the market today, everything is absurd.. As I was turning 20 years old, I really wanted a few vehicles. One of which was the 98 Supra and the other being an Integra Type-R. Supra's at that time were starting to climb up in prices and the Intergra was like a dime a dozen in my area.
I kid you not, they were being stolen left and right. There were two yellow type-r on my street and both stolen just weeks from each other. It was enough to turn me off from buying it. I still kick myself in the ass for not buying either one.. I am thrilled the Integra is coming back. I also have to remind myself, this is Acura of today not the Acura of the 90's.. In other words, not to get over excited and forget that somewhere there's going to be a disappointment. Such iconic cars have big shoes to fill to nail it right. The type-s badge no longer means what it meant and has lost it's luster for me. So I hope and on team Acura, that they don't fuck this up..

Exactly.
I love the NSX myself. I would LOVE to have one myself. But I'm not paying over $100k. The old ones are going for that much as well.
They had better not put no CVT in that thing. They failed the CR-Z doing that crap. Irritates me. There shouldn't be anything but a DCT and 6spd trans available in those.

Found a 2017 a while back at 117K. If I didn't sink 60K (so far) in exterior renovation work on my house, I would have used that $$ towards buying it. But it would be silly to have such a vehicle sitting in my driveway when my house needed work. Adult thing to do was fix our home, but the car guy in me would sleep just fine at night with an NSX in my driveway even with an active roof leak

except Vette customer base was slowly dying off, similar problem to Cadillac couple decades ago. The average age of new vette owners was slowly going up as time went by. One of the reasons why C8 is mid engined and went much higher in tech than previous gens.

See? Lol. That "import boi" tax kills the NSX. Then Acura pricing it so high too...yeah. Definitely didn't help.

I'm tired of working on my house. Don't get me wrong, it's well worth the time and money but I just want to finish it. Unfortunately, the highly corrupted town I live in allows anything to be built on undersized lots, so i'm dealing with a two family home being built next to me. I'm not happy with it whatsoever. Wifey keeps saying "Let them finish building it, maybe it's not as bad as you think" but then is always "Browsing" at other homes.... I live in a prime area (right across from NYC). Our home is paid for with this market, I could sell for an absurd price, but i'm torn about what to do but regardless still plan on finishing the work.

Rumor is that if you were looking to purchase a NSX Type S you’re out of luck because all 300 have been sold. Here’s a good walk around video.

They are not developing any new ICE engine for sure, or for that matter any new transmission. So for Type S version of Integra, it will be combination of 10AT and 2.0T engine (with SHAWD) most likely. Not sure what base model will look like.

Saw these spyshots of a test mule that are supposed to be the Integra. Looks like a 2 door coupe, very similar to the RSX.

"The 'spy shots' you reference appear to be the work of a skilled photoshop artist. While we appreciate the enthusiasm for our past products, the vehicle depicted here is not a Honda or Acura development prototype," Acura spokesperson Chris Naughton

Really good job by the artist. Actually might be a really good sport coupe for the Acura Line.

If they can keep it lightweight and put the 2.0T in it then it could be a really fun car to drive. Doesnt need to be crazy fast, more about being agile and having great handling.
#943
Not sure those spy shots match up with the teaser from Acura but man I do hope it's a coupe. It would make a lot of sense not only for Acura but for Honda as they discontinued their coupes and now lack one entirely, there are coupe enthusiasts out there, including current Honda guys wondering what they will replace their Civic/Accord coupes with now that those are discontinued.

Screw that! Shove that new 3.0T in there!

I saw, and confirmed with the dealer that it's not a typo. They do have a 2022 on a truck inbound...They said no changes for 2022 whatsoever.

Bought my first new car, 1962 409 Chevy, under what was then invoice. Since then never paid close to MSRP for a car. 2020 Z4 was about 15% off after all the discounts, rebates & incentives. The 2022 M4C convertible deal I negotiated for my daughter just about covered the remaining sales tax which was already reduced by 3% of a $15,000 trade in allowance.
Worse deal I ever did except for the 0.09% loan which on a pricy car added up to some nice money.

Just some inflation hitting now. Main driver pushing the prices up is supply & demand. Too many people chasing too few cars. Lack of chips & plant closures last year pushed more buyers into this year instead of spreading them out.

you wouldnt be buying a Type S 8 to 10% under MSRP. just like the PMC models, the TYPE S has zero incentives. Mark up over MSRP that you guys keep harping on are just a few dumb dealers. You can find Type S out there for MSRP or MSRP plus dealer adds with no ADM if you just make the effort to look.
#950
At this point I think any remaining 2021 is available only because the dealership is asking for an excessive mark up. Hopefully more vehicles will be available at MSRP or s little less once the 2022 model year builds start to roll in.

TLX Type-S Inventory Surrounding Baltimore
According to the Acura inventory link, there are no Type-S vehicles within 200 miles of Baltimore except Tiger Eye Pearl with Ebony Interiors. There seems to be one each at many dealers.

No they will not. One of the reason dealerships can go behind MSRP or invoice because of manufacturer incentives. The Type S will not have incentives anytime soon if ever. Just like the PMC RDX, MDX and TLX.

Where are you located? I'm having a hard time finding a white TLX Type S with red interior and Y spoke wheels.

I completely agree. I had the same argument in 2018 when 2019 RDX just came out, and dealers where acting like as**holes and people paying MSRP, and telling everyone that prices will not drop. Some forum members argued to death that 2019 RDX is the sh*t, and will never go down in price below MSRP.
Guess what, 2 yers later, 9-10% under MSRP was possible.
I am not sure what is so special about TLX type S, its bigger engine, better suspension and brakes. It costs more money - fine, the MSRP is a bigger number also.
But why should regular TLX have a bigger percentage discount off its MSRP than type S? Its all hype, and supply & demand. Once hype is over, and there no shortage due to covid, it will be another Acura.
PMC edition not so much discount -- that I agree, these are limited production.

What is happening right now is due to supply shortages, and broken supply chain due to COVID. All cars are impacted, even regular Honda/Toypta. Its a bad time to buy a car. It should go back to normal, but might take some time....
