Well that didn't take long. The Type S is now eligible for the $2500 conquest offer thru August 31, the 0% financing is not as of now. Suspect the ADM's will prob go away in the larger markets soon!

You're hearing synthetic, piped in exhaust audio. The car, AFAIK, doesn't have adjustable exhaust valves that allow it to sound any different between drive modes.

Actually it does. There are videos of the exhaust opening being varied by a moving flap as the drive modes differ.

This forum is the reason I ended up putting an order in for a 2022 M340I. Once I learned about the 340, I started doing a lot of homework. To my surprise, the BMW is the better value in my opinion.

Just because you contribute to an online forum doesn't mean you can't figure out what a good deal is...

At $65K, the Type-S just doesn't make sense. I'm wondering if it even does at $53K. Lots of things missing, it's weighted down, and you can get a lightly used competitor at the same or less pricing.

That said - the markup is crazy!

I mostly lurk but wow had to step in here. Yeah lemio it most definitely has active exhaust if you take off the hate blinders for just 1 second.

Yep...put it in S+ mode and the exhaust valve stays open all the time. In other modes it's open and closed depending on "things"....LOL! Engineers were
whacko on this. But, it sure does have ACTIVE EXH. VALVES....one in each inner exh. tip.

What does "order" mean though? Getting an actual build slot (like replacing a default one: "hey we were going to make 10 reds but you want blue so we'll make 9 red 1 blue" or just an allocation request "we'll send your dealer a blue instead of a red")?

I am not entirely sure how they’re doing it but they ordered an Apex Blue with red interior for me. Whether that means they had to put an order in or they had it allocated already isn’t something I am sure of. I only know that he told me my request was placed and were just waiting for it to ship and arrive.

I had my $1000 deposit in before the Type S was even advertised as being up for order at my dealer. I am not sure how many of each color combo is being made but I’m told I’ll be good.

We shall see though. I don’t know how it works if you put an order in now. I just know I’m at the front of the line so I should be good.

Is it just me or it seems way more Canadians have brought the Type S home compared to Americans? We also have a fair number of Canadians on AZ so it may just be proportional but still...

I test drove the white/red one they got over there Thursday. Gosh it’s gorgeous and drives amaze. They offered to let me take it out alone or with him and a trainee. I said they can come. Car is a blast. Put a deposit down. Sticker and ask price is 53k. Gave them my Top 4 color preferences they are gonna do some hunting.

Last time I did it like this was in 1998 when I had the Supra.

I haven't seen a single red show up yet in Acura's tracking tool, so I wouldn't be surprised if it's either not hit its product run yet or they're just not going to make many. Gray and Blue are probably going to be the 2 best sellers.

I've seen red at a few dealers for their demo car. My guess for rarest will be blue w/ orchid.

Just filter based on 3.0L engine and TLX and that's all the type S's.

Seems like it may be a regional thing too. In AZ where I'm at it's a lot of gray and black...which is weird cause of the sun.

Every Type S in my area is modern steel metallic. This is Illinois.

Wondering if they’re gonna be shipping certain colors at certain times mostly.

If you want one sooner, expand your search out a bit. I had to go up to 250 miles. That's how I found the one in Cinci. @Ghostof TypeS Past bought the one I saw, but the dealer told me that another is on the way, so I put money to reserve it. Doesn't hurt to check the incoming inventory while waiting on your local dealer. If you see something you like, give them a call and find out if it's available.

Where are the TLX’s??? Where are they???? Still crazy @Camaro194 is in from Pittsburgh and has the allocation I reserved a few weeks ago - due to be delivered end of august? Somehow I jumped ahead to first of the two being delivered in the region after someone “backed out.”

Who is a member that works at Marysville and can comment if we’re able to see 50,000 units of Type S?
