My dealer that's selling for MSRP called me saying that they had a 2021 Type S allocated to them today with my color choice with a build date in October and delivery in early November. This one doesn't have the performance wheels though since it's on back-order. Not sure if I should let this one slide if the 2022 models are supposedly coming out in November. I told them I'd take it, but I'm having second thoughts in case they do make any changes for 2022. I'd also have to deal with the extra set of wheels, though it's not as much of a concern.
I highly doubt Acura will make any changes to the 2022 Type S; manufacturers typically wait a few years before making a slight “refresh”. If I had to take a guess; I would say that the “refresh” for future Type S vehicles will be HUD and maybe a full digital gauge cluster like the new MDX. Time will tell; you’ll be good with the 2021 model, I’d say go for it!
Marin Acura has a blue type S on the floor. wants 10K ADM on top. 74K sticker w/ carbon trim and underbody spoilers.....
Heh, Dan from Marin Acura sent me an email letting me know they had a blue Type S available. I asked if there was still an ADM, and I never heard back. I guess I know why now...

Sad thing is someone's going to pay it. Dealers wouldn't keep doing it unless it didn't work.
Chip shortage and impact of the pandemic is not going away any time soon.
I hope no one pays that, they literally are asking to be robbed by the dealership at
that price point for a Type-S and this is before Taxes and Licensing fees :/

Pay $85K OTD, and these clowns still make you pay $25 for a loaner...
That dealer is really shady, total accessories plus markup equals $17,614, not $20,724 as it states. Where is the rest of the $3,110 that is being charged?

Considering that a popular fast food chain nearly went out of business because the average customer thought that a third-pound burger was worse than a quarter-pounder at the same price, I'd say math is not a particular strength in the US.

good catch. really good catch. no idea. they even mark the accessories up CONSIDERABLY from Acura SRP. Sales rep claims labor, i ask why they charge ~$100 extra then to put on wheel locks: "well they have to lift the car up". no they don't. and anyway, okay, how bout put them on when the cars already up for the underbody spoilers lol.
just completely out to lunch. but that's Marin county. (Many) people here pay way too much for everything and have no problem waiting in long lines. just things i've noticed.

The funny thing is that most people in Marin County aren't even in the market for something like a Type S. They might have better luck trying to pawn this off to some poor sap down in Cupertino or Mountain View.
This one is still listed at their site, looks like its still up for grabs, at MSRP. Sweet spec on this!
If I was looking for this and lived far away, I'd fly in and grab this thing and drive it back, maybe put one of those Clear Bra (or any kind of bra) on it for the trek home.
Or, have it shipped (with a top grade shipping service), it'll be way cheaper than these ridiculous dealer markups.

Did you confirm that there’s no ADM? Most dealers usually don’t list the ADM on the website.
Hot off the presss!!!! Just happened to drop my car off at Audi for oil change and I see this guy pulling in to the mcGrath Acura dealer next door! In Hinsdale IL.
How have people done with dealer negotiations re: accessories? I'm trying to negotiate a discount on the carbon fiber rear diffuser but the sales rep isn't budging, despite so far knocking off about 10% to 20% on the other accessories I plan on getting.
I'm picking my order up soon, delivery date around November 5th, I've bought 2 Acuras in the past 07 TSX and a 15 ILX, Will be buying a 2022 RDX delivery date End of November, and have had this Type S on order since June. I've had the Salesmen fight over me and the one that won is giving me their employee discount with accessories at their cost. I can't say if its because i've been a customer for the last 15 years or not.

Dealer’s typically sell accessories at MSRP so there’s definitely wiggle room on the price. If they simply won’t budge, I would recommend you purchase the carbon fiber trim from the following site:
I picked up my 2021 TLX Type S today. I ordered it in late July. Gary Force Acura in Brentwood / Franklin TN did exactly what they said they would do. MSRP, no ADM and regular updates as to status. My initial drives confirm what I felt with the test drive. Muscular and drives much lighter than the advertised weight. Excellent value for the money. I am happy.
Picked up my Type S in Salem, OR last week. Never thought i would have to negociate for MSRP, but i least got 1 tax removed that I didnt have to pay from the out the door price.
Just put down a deposit on an Apex Blue Type S in Canada. Was able to negotiate it for $59,300 CAD ($47,600 USD), and 10% off accessories.
I am surprised they dropped the price. You’ll enjoy the car and as a fellow Apex Blue owner myself I just know you’ll love the color. I’ve gotten so many compliments on my car and it’s color that it’s sort of flattering, lol.

Thanks! That ~$1200 below the 2022 MSRP wasn't easy. It took a couple months of back-and-forth calls/emails, 25 years of dealer/service department loyalty, my professional organization having a price privilege discount, meeting with two different sales reps then eventually the sales manager, and walking away from the negotiation table at one point.
You will enjoy the Apex Blue, bilirubin.
I got lucky getting the Orchid interior; now coming out of Stores to see crowds around the Car.
At a H-Depot found a new Genesis parked beside my Type S;
with a lady (owner) arguing with her husband that this (Type S) is what she wants.
The seating adjustable support is now a perfect addition for the SHAWD when cornering (as if on Rails).
I won't miss my 05 RL which tended to throw my Back out of whack, whilst the car made the curves ,,,.
Indeed with +3k miles, the TLX Type S is a balanced 'Sweet Ride'!!
I picked up a Apex blue with red Type S over the weekend. I had eyes on it from Pauly Acura in Highland Park, IL. They wanted $5k ADM. No extra accessiories added. I was able to talk them down to $2,500 and sadly I agreed. My pride hurts but driving is a thrill. I drove 2 hours to Chicago to sell my 15’ TLX V6 to carvana and immediately went to the dealer after. Experience was great, they didn’t offer test drive so it only 4 miles on the car. Also I had my credit Union back me so I literally walked in and gave them a check and walked out. Besides some phone calls to negotiate the price it was the fastest car buying experience to date for me. I accepted ADM knowing that my 15’ TLX may not have the same value next spring as today.
Apparently the car has been on the lot since Sep, VIN ends 0988. They sold 3 other Type S which arrived after this one but no one wanted this color combo. Someone did attempt to buy but couldn’t get financing. This is my 5th Acura, never bought another maker. This is the best Acura/car I’ve driven. So much fun. Driving home from Chicago was amazing. I stopped by Morton Grove Acura on the way home to pick up All season mats. Current mods scheduled/ordered, are tinted windows, side skirts (I will install myself)and ceramic paint protection. I might replace the tires for winter and keep the stock wheels. I have my eyes in Enkei tsr-x wheels for summer. Maybe in bronze.
Thanks for everyone who posted their experience with an S. It really made the choice simple. I did test drive one back in the summer so it was a matter of getting $$$ ready. If your torn about it just do it!!

Congrats! Ours were buddies on the assembly line (I have the same color combination with a VIN of 0986).
