Wondering if they’re gonna be shipping certain colors at certain times mostly.
McGrath Acura Westmont has Black, Blue, and White available. Build dates late August.

Nice

I had such a horrible experience there so I’ll never go back. They scratched up my brand new TSX and tried to act as if they didn’t. Never again.

I’m not really concerned. Advantage Acura will get me my car soon enough. I know one McGrath was adding an additional $5000 mark up too.

Side note — how can the builds be late August? 😝

or do you mean they’re not in stock but that’s what they’re expecting?

Sorry that happened - terrible.

Sales rep showed me the inventory sheet with scheduled build dates. 8-28/8-29.

This was the day I picked the car up too!

The worst part is the service advisor told me that scratches happen and that his wife just got one while parked at the grocery store. I don’t understand how he thought that comment was acceptable. Like now I’ve got more than 30 scratches before I even take ownership of it. The scratches came during the final cleaning by their detailers. I found them behind every door handle, trunk lid, rear bumper and both rear panels.

They failed to buff them out because, as you’d expect, their detailers aren’t really detailers. They have no idea how to do it. I got them to install the TSX spoiler, which was like $850, for free. I took my car to a local shop and got the scratches removed for about $90. But I should have never had to go through a month or more of this nonsense. They tried to offer repainting the rear of my car but since it was so new I demanded a full respray. They declined and their body shop, DuPage Autobody, said it will be obvious it was repainted if they touch it up as to try and talk me out of it. I was so blown away by their lack of confidence that I demanded to use my own shop which I know does great work. No go. Go figure.

That’s why I won’t ever go back to McGrath. It’s unbelievable they’d even act as if everything’s okay. One time at Continental Acura, now Advantage, I had to get my drivers side mirror replaced. It cracked for some reason. When I got home I noticed the black plastic ring around the mirror had several marks from when the shop pried it off to get the mirror off. I casually mentioned it to the service manager and he said they’d fix it immediately. Talked to the technician who said he did use padding to try and prevent this but it’s possible it could have happened. Didn’t even hide it. Replaced as soon as the part arrived. That’s how it’s supposed to be.

Will have answers regarding my cancellation soon - I’m in Phoenix for vacay. It doesn’t have to do with the car itself.

Also - if you want to bark up a tree about dealer ADM - send an email to Emilie Korkor - Assistant VP for Acura National Sales. I’d only use this if you have a deposit on an order and don’t want to pay ADM, but it’s worth a shot…

Just drive home my type s

I have been watching the inventory and what is in transit from Acura to the dealers and there was a modern steel metallic with ebony interior delivered to Vandergriff in Arlington. They added some other things to it and I drove it home tonight. There was not a 10k ADM as said in a earlier post from them. Can’t say there is any wiggle room on pricing but I will say that the salesman and sales manager were very nice professional and I would definitely recommend who I dealt with. LOVE my type S!

Vandergriff Honda

I test drove a 2021 TLX Type S today at Vandergriff Honda in Arlington, TX. They are charging $5000 over MSRP. I've enclosed the invoice the salesman gave me and some pics of the car I test drove. The carbon fiber spoiler looks really awesome and the side skirts should have been standard on this car. I plan to buy one within the next 6 months to 1 year. I told the salesman to give me a call whenever they can sell the car at MSRP to me. I'm hoping there will be a great sale for the holiday season and I can get this beautiful car for Christmas! The black emblems really look great too.. I think I'll buy them online and pay the dealership 1 hour to install them correctly. I want a white TLX Type S with red interior and the upgraded summer performance tires with the Y spokes wheels.

Manufacturers can not dictate..or tell dealers what to sell their vehicles for. Just a fact. They can try, plead, or whatever....but, dealers are allowed to sell for what they want. MSRP...is just what it means,
"Suggested Retail Price!" The owners of my dealership have never believed in selling any of their cars over MSRP. They own many dealerships...including my Ford dealer. I bought my '21, '19, and '14 from
them...All at under Invoice. Acuras I get just over Invoice. Building strong relationships with the GM's has always been great for me on what I pay....I write them a check....no mess, no fuss....get treated very well.
Yes, the '22 MDX is selling to MOST all buyers for MSRP....but, mine was bought for much less. Why...'cause of that long time relationship with the owners and GM's. Not magic...just simply buying often from
an established relationship with the GM's of my Ford dealer and Acura dealer. Known them both for approx. 10 yrs.

Isn't the Type-S supposed to be bringing people over to Acura? So how does one get a special deal with multiple past purchase if customer has no idea who works at a dealership. Why would one care either, business is business ... not friendship. If Acura is not budging, other companies will.

I just got word from my dealership that my TLX Type S was given a VIN and is currently in transit. I had ordered with the performance tire package but Acura shipped it without those as they're apparently on backorder and not expected for about 5 months. The dealership asked me if I still want the car or if I want to wait for one to be made around December with the tire package and I told them I'll take the standard tires. Honestly, after driving the Type S with it's standard setup, I felt it gripped the road damn good. I really only want the performance NSX inspired RIMS anyway so I'll just order those separately later on. This way I won't need to change tires every winter.

So excited. I'm going in on Friday to get my 2019 TLX ASPEC SH-AWD appraised and do some paper work for my Type S. There's a possibility that the car will be at the dealership by Friday so I may or may not be taking it home. Going to add on some side skirts for sure.

Apex Blue w/ Red Interior.

Nice! Hope you get the car soon. I did the same. Still waiting on the wheels but I'd rather have the car now and swap them later.

Definitely. By the time the car would have come in December I'd have to swap the tires immediately anyway, lol.

I'm definitely tinting my windows but I'm on the fence about Paint Protection Film. Full coverage of the front is $1600-$1700 depending on the shop. I'd had the film before with my TSX but part of me is cringing at that cost now.

I just saw your paperwork. Holy crap, I'm assuming you put more money than their examples down, right?

I'm putting 20-25K down as of now so we shall see.

If someone puts so little down and pays that much I'd cringe so much, lol

I am planning 20-25K

Right?!

I am not adding anything at the dealership nor are they forcing anything.

I'm buying the all season mats and trunk tray but I'm doing so through OEM Acura Parts as they're cheaper than my dealer can match. I'll buy the side skirts from my dealer but not on my initial loan as I don't need to create higher payments for accessories.

No add ons. No way.

Correct. I edited the post immediately as I didn’t mean to quote you. I also noticed he didn’t buy the car but it was a dealer write up.

Edit: I guess I didn’t edit it but created a new post. What the hell? Haha

Haha no worries. Don't be surprised if you get a call any day now for the car. I called my dealer last Thursday and they didn't even have a VIN yet, they just saw that it was still being built. Car arrived on Saturday. Doesn't hurt that they are in the same state as where they're built, but I was surprised how quick things went.

I picked up my Type S in Apex Blue Pearl with Red Interior this afternoon.

I'm going to order side skirts and tint my windows but that's all I'll be doing.

How are folks doing in negotiating down the ADM? I had hoped we'd see some movement for the 2022 models (which start getting built in October), but it looks like we're still at a $2k ADM in MD/VA.

Have you tried Pohanka in Chantilly?

I haven't checked with Pohanka for a while now. Pohanka was the only one to quote me the $10k ADM, so I've steered clear since then. Others were about $2.5k and haven't moved much since launch.

Yeah so, I had a deposit down at Advantage Acura in Naperville IL. That same week, I happened to fly to Phoenix for a photo shoot, and I met up with a good friend there who is big into cars (has a Gallardo Super Trofeo, Wraith, Panamera Turbo, and a couple other toys) and I happened to ask him if I can borrow a car for the 3-day weekend. He said sure and gave me the Panamera - 2018 Model Turbo. Now, I was never big on this car, I was like eh. But damn it blew me away. So fast and smooth, and I suddenly switched gears and was like, I want something more (than the TLX Type S). So I cancelled my order and the gears started turning over the next week. I realized I couldn't quite swing a non-abused 2018 Turbo, and didn't care for the older body style models. I did some more research and am currently driving a 2014 Audi RS7 with only 24k miles on it - it has the same motor as the Panamera Turbo. Compared to that car the Audi has a wilder attitude - the Panamera seems more of a GT Cruiser. The RS7 cruises well too but the powertrain seems harsher and the car is louder in Sport mode. Yeah so, obviously I chose to trade away the reliability and ease of an Acura for the raucous power of a big German GT.

If it had not been for having that Panamera for those 3 days, I was set on purchasing the TLX Type S. And I'm sure I would have enjoyed it. Now I get to be concerned about the maintenance and upkeep costs on the RS7, until the day I sell it.

Wow. They told me no ADM. Maybe because I'm a previous customer who would have traded in my '07 Type-S 6MT,
