I have yet to hear anyone who has deemed all these puddle light replacements "permanent". Sounds like a bad design that will force owners to pay out of pocket when warranty lapses!
Is the replacement lamp from the Pilots a long term fix? I’ve seen some videos of people using the Pilot replacement option which even is a different shade of white.
While down in Florida, BOTH lights went out
Miami Acura fixed, in less than an hour
Fingers crossed, that they last
Pembroke Pines Acura, has them backordered for months
I had one go out early last year and it's still working over a year now. In 19 months owning my 2023 that is the only problem I had. Best car I ever owned and I had a lot of cars in my years (78 years old now).
I had my driver side replaced about a year ago. Been fine ever since. Now passenger side is out and will be replacing in a couple weeks under warranty. My tech has told me there are virtually none coming back in after replacement, so just something wrong at the factory from my understanding.
My passenger side light went out recently, and I'm having it replaced next week. Kinda wanted the driver's side to go out, as well, just to see if I could kill two birds with one stone.
FWIW, my driver side light has been replaced 4X. When it was replaced for the 3rd time, the service advisor told me that an updated light was being used. That 3rd light lasted 10 months and I had to get it replaced a few weeks back. I don't have a lot of hope that this current light is going to last long.
I've looked through this thread and have seen a little of both suggesting moisture ingress or perhaps defective manufacturer construction of the LED element and / or puddle lamp assembly?
As shown on the OEM diagram the #10 puddle lamp face downward at the bottom flat of the outside mirror assembly.
Here's a real world example picture showing how downward fitment is situated within the divot on the flat bottom area of the mirror assembly.
Here's an actual picture of the puddle lamp unit below and it appears they (the manufacturer) place some kind of (red arrow) weatherproof rubberized foam gasket material around the periphery to keep moisture from leeching in after final press assembly of the outside mirror.
The purple arrow indicates the round LED element to provide the light.
Could moisture be getting into the lamp assembly at either of these locations?
Here's another closure picture that kind of shows how the foam periphery gasket (red arrow) is 'mashed' in the circular orifice to make its seal against moisture.
Purple arrow shows a little closer visual on the LED element placement like the previous picture.
I can see how perhaps some moisture could accumulate / pool? in this area during rainy / snowy weather?
I’ve replaced the drivers side about 4 times in just over the 1 year I’ve owned the car (Bought it new in Nov ‘23). I noticed the mirror has a little play in it now after being taken off so many times. Only when I’m cleaning it though. My dealer SA and I were wondering why the passenger side had not gone out. Well, about 2 weeks after the 4th replacement of the drivers side, the passenger side finally went out. I don’t think I’m even going to bother. Until I know for sure they have corrected the problem.
The new car warranty on my 2021 Acura TLX Type-S will soon expire. So I'm taking the opportunity to replace the defective right mirror puddle light. Both were replaced in 2022. Left puddle light still works. I'll let you know how it goes.
As Paul Harvey would say: “Now the rest of the story.” [My old fart reference]
When leaving the dealership following my puddle light replacement, I backed into an HVA loaner car. No excuses; my fault. The impact was so slight, I didn’t feel it. $2,000 to repair my damage. $600 to fix the loaner car.

My puddle lights work!
It's always salt in the wound when something bad happens while fixing something that shouldn't happen (puddle lights going out so often)!

$2k?! for that? what do they have to do that will cost $2k is paint that expensive now?
Sorry for the hijack. A small dent beneath the rear quarter panel scratch increased the repair cost: $475 for materials and $1,475 for labor. Results look perfect even in the bright sun.
