Question Self Dimming Mirror Question

So my winsheild got cracked and I got a new one. Before I seemed to always be ok putting my parking hangtag on the review mirror and it wouldn't dim. Now it seems to always dim when I have it on. Is it supposed to do this??

You can turn it off so it doesn't automatically dim.

Press the button and the green light will go out.

There are 2 photocells on the mirror one on either side. If your parking tag is covering the one facing the windshield, then it will think it is night time and dim automatically, then yes, it is working. Try to move the tag out a bit, so some light can get at the cell ... hope it works.

If it didn't dim, I'd be worried ...

I kicked out a 100 dollar for window by mistake once, thats it. How do you manage to break those things? When i was little I would always climb up it to get to the roof.
