So I got a TLX

...rather, upgraded to a TLX FWD Tech from an 08 TL. So far it drives well, but there are a few things that I want to ask if anyone else has the same feelings (issues?) ...

1. The shadow of the silver trim from AC driver side vent in the rear-view mirror. Even after a week of driving, I am still not used to it. Any suggestions on how to fix it? Maybe remove and paint to a dull color to match the surrounding?

2. The rear-view mirrors are just not comfortable to use in rain. In addition to these mirrors, it seems like throughout the car, rain drops tend to "stick" to the glass than being drained down. I have cleaned using glass cleaner to no effect.

3. The accelerator paddle has some weird kind of vibration ... like something is rubbing against the wheels, or like road conditions are resonating. It is more pronounced at slow speeds, even on perfectly fine roads.

Any ideas? Thx

PS: Is there a tutorial on how to copy manually from a CD/DVD to the HDD? I saw the manual option, but couldn't quite figure out how to copy manually. The couple of tutorials that I saw simply mention to select the track and there should be an option to copy but I didn't find it

1. From what I know you just have to get used to it. Couple people have mentioned it bothering them but I didn't really notice it until I read that some others were having issues.

2. I feel the same, when it rains the back-up camera is pretty useless and I have to rely on old fashion turning around and using the back up sensors to make sure I am in the right spot and won't be hitting anything. Kind of gets on my nerves but I guess I will survive.

3. I noticed the same thing, wasn't sure if it were the road I was travelling on cause I don't notice it often. I usually only feel the slight vibration in the car when I am using the ACC at low speeds, almost like something is grinding. I have been meaning to have my dealer look at it. Maybe on my first oil change.

1. It never bothered me. Just try to ignore it. You can order replacement vents in black but that messes up for overall interior scheme.

2. Never noticed it, but I try to keep the camera lens clean

3. Have not experience that.

4. You cannot xfer the manuals to the HDD. You should be able to put them on a smart phone.

I think the vibration in the accelorater pedal could possible due to the VCM. The V6 accord has the same vibration, this is my opinion. This is only if you have a V6 of course.

Thanks for the input. I will check with the dealer if there is anything that may be wrong with the vibration. I do have a V6

You can get replacements for the vents that are black. Don't know the cost. But I decided not.

First, I think you will still get reflections from the black parts as I can see the black parts of my normal vents in the reflection. Certainly if the replacements have the white markings on the adjustment wheel you will see those.

Second, I think the "looks" of the black ones would clash with the interior look as they would be different from the rest of the trim.

Third, after a few weeks I don't really notice the reflections.

I think Acura will replace these (one time) as a warranty item at no cost to you.

The default factory setting for the HDD is to copy the CD to your hard drive automatically while it's playing for the first time. All you need to do is cram the disc into the player and let the magic happen!

You can also stop/start the car while this is happening and it doesn't seem to harm it in any way.

Highly unlikely. You will either need an excellent relationship with your sales manager or be able to make a very strong case to them (like eye problems with glare).

So what is the value of the "Manual" option? there is an option to either automatically OR manually copy songs to the HDD

I'm not a fan of the reflection either but after 5500 miles I have gotten used to it. It bothered me bad on my initial test drive.

I have the same vibration. I asked my service tech and he wasn't aware of any issues and when we did a test drive it never done it. (Was in stop and go traffic) But the moment I left - it done it. I seem to notice it around 45mph and/or 1400 rpm. I'm gonna let the tech drive it next time I go back and see if he can feel it.

I also notice the chrome reflection in the windows and if you look hard enough it's even visible in the windshield, but like others, I've gotten used to it. I know that black inserts are available and others have mentioned it as well, but I remember reading somewhere that members who have gotten the black vents still notice the reflections. I'm going to be tinting my windows soon, and if that helps at all, I'll report back.

I don't have any vibrations at all in the pedal that I've noticed, and I'm not sure if that's only an issue with FWD cars.

I recall "Pam" in one of her One-Pack-Initiative videos mentioning the "reflection" and that replacement parts were available for $. Thread here... https://acurazine.com/forums/fifth-g...iative-916999/
