They are videos by the team that handles technical feedback. Basic message is they have a few situation of one-off problems and are listening and urging feedback from the technical counterpart in the Dealer Service Centers. There were also some sales numbers and dealer supply.

It seems positive so far and does not give me any cause for concern.

Kudos to Acura for using real people in their videos. Not those sales monkeys some other brands use!

PS. Close to 1000 sold in August. Kinda low but I guess people are on vacation... infinity q50 sold 2461 in July.

I think September will be a telling month for them - they'll have some i4's on the lots to look at. Still - given the fact that most dealerships didn't have TL's to sell for the past month you would think you would see a bigger number out of the chute.

They have only begun to advertise as well. I am guessing most sales so far have been from current Acura owners and those following the TLX's progress.

Sales seem to be ramping up nicely though:
August 12: 115 sales
August 19: 485 sales
August 26: 991 sales

I'll be looking forward to next week to see if the double trend continues. The dealers are getting inventory and we know a few people here have ordered cars.

It will also be nice to see how the AWD model does.

I don't think these were meant to communicate with customers, but I certainly like to see these. It makes me realize that they really do have a feedback process to address these small issues. Design problems will not be so easy to fix.


They have not even got up to full production yet, and keep in mind that nearly all these sales are V6 since the I4 shipped ~2 weeks later. I just saw the first I4 show up at my local dealer today. I think I was one of the first test drivers.

Honda released sales today.

2286 TLX sold in August.

That's a HUGE jump if the number from August 26th is correct. They included September 2nd in sales because Labor Day is all one weekend.

So that's 6 days of sales and they went from 991 sold to 2286 sold. That's 215 a day. From August 19th to August 26th they sold 84 a day. 215 a day is MDX pace. Which is where they say that they think the TLX will end up.

No clear film protection on front of Adv models? Really? I have it on my RLX Adv - the CMBS radar is located in the Logo/emblem on the beak. Is it not located in the same area on the TLX?

Watched it again; Pam said that in addition to the beak sensor / camera, there's a sensor panel inside the FRONT bumper that may get impeded by paint protection films.

According to the latest One Pack video 1924 cars were sold as of September 2nd. I wonder why the discrepancy? Maybe the 2286 number including special order cars that were ordered but not delivered yet?

Either way, 933 or over 1000 cars sold between August 19th - September 2nd. Good news for Acura, hopefully sales remain strong.

For anyone reading this, in the subsequent video Pam (I like how I'm acting like I know her or something) stated a bit of a correction. She said just don't cover the grille portion. The bumper should be ok.

A thread should be started just for these videos, no comments, just to keep track of them. I tried getting to the website she mentioned in the latest video above and it is the Honda intranet, you need a UID/PW to get in.

This could also be an issue for those who want to paint the grill. But I think it only affects the Advance, I didn't think the Tech had a radar in the grill. But maybe someone can correct me.

No, the FCW/CMBS camera is located near the rearview mirror. The ACC radar sensor on the Advance model is located behind the grill.

CMBS also uses the radar in the grille.

Very interesting, there is no way to get the 9AT out of Park if the engine is off - Park is set hydraulically by the electronic selector. You would have to use the special tool that dealers have to borrow (should buy) from Acura to release the Park pawl.

This is going to make things difficult dealing with dead batteries or even worse, bad tow operators who'll really mess things up by dragging it.
