Brain F@rt?

Once is OK, but twice is the start of a pattern. Yesterday, I got in the car and the seat moved me forward as if to crush me, like in the movie Christine. It was moving me to the #1 seating position, or default, for my vertically challenged wife. Fortunately # 2 worked.

Then on the road, all my XM presets had been replaced by XM Preview and the nav system went to flat view, north up. The settings that went away were my optional settings - the core settings like miles driven, etc. were fine.

All was fine after shutting down and restarting. I do believe the dealership and I will have a chat soon, though an intermittent thing like this might present a challenge. Would a brain fart like this throw a code?

Am I the only one to see this?

Was you wife in the car with you or both remotes? I seem to think that it displays with remote was recognized, but that might have been just on my 3G TL. Did you try pressing the #2 control on the door?

I can't say for sure on the 2015 TLX (no experience there) but the 4th gen TLs sow whether it is Driver1 or Driver2 in the MID when you start the car.

I think it will select the "driver" who last unlocked the vehicle if you get in without unlocking the door. But it will show you which driver is selected, but maybe not before it has crushed you with the forward seat position

Your car is possessed. You need a good Exorcism to evict the key fob demons. Make sure you get a good exorcist, not those fake ones.

PS. Owners manuals... people write them so that people can read them. Sorry about the sarcasm.

+1
Unlocking the driver's door selects all the settings. It's not just the seat, it includes most of the customized "Vehicle Settings" and Nav settings, like screen view 3D or flat.
