all dash lights on trans pop to neutral

anyone experience all dash warning lights comes on and trans pop to neutral when car is stop and go traffic. nothing can be done but turning off engine. turning off and on engine did not help. car stay on neutral.
Then after engine was off for at least 15 min. it seem to be able to pop back to drive but all dash warning lights are still on. after leaving engine off for 30 min to 1hr, it seem to just have the vsa light and a few more minutes of driving, vsa light also went off and car was back to normal. not sure if this has anything to do with it, the car haven't been drove in over 10 days and the car was in the dealer 3 weeks ago for nhtsa recall 19v-060.

It sounds like this, but that doesn’t apply to 17s. You should already have the current software. Have the dealer read any codes stored for this event.

It could also be a bad battery. I mean, that shouldn’t matter if the car was running off the alternator, but the part about not driving it for 10 days makes this sound like not a coincidence.

Read any of the lengthy threads about ZF9 problems and you’ll find you’re not alone. You may even find your exact problem. It’s a POS.

Can it be a battery issue even if the car starts w/o any problems?

Take it to the dealership and have them check for any error codes. That's about the only thing that may help. Anything else here is pure guessing.

wouldnt be surprised if the auto start stop function killed the battery and there wasn't enough juice to restart the car. When this happens this freaks out all the computers in the car (due to low voltage) and all the lights come on. Once it gets slightly cooler (battery gets pretty hot in engine bay) it can deliver a few more CCA's to get the car started vs hot.

Get your battery tested and replaced by acura.

Had similar recurring "all dash lights" suddenly on, except rather than popping into neutral, my transmission would occasionally/simultaneously lock up when all the lights came on if I was stopped or backing up.
Long story made short, after 6 trips to the dealer starting with resets and complete computer reloads Acura had the dealer replace the Catalytic converter....problem solved. I only wish it hadn't taken 6 trips and 15 days in the shop for them to get Acura to find the root of the problem. Slight unseen exhaust blockage in "cats" was triggering exhaust overheat which in turn was triggering every dash warning light. including confused signals to transmission. Who'dathunkit?

Just as an FYI for anyone in the future, this new TSB should probably also be investigated : http://www.urvi.net/forumfiles/SB/B19-049.PDF
