So when I got my car abt a month ago the srs, check engine, & vsa lights all were on. The vsa light comes on/off which i've already asked abt & I guess thats normal. Well I took it into Acura for the trans/srs recalls & they reset my computer & said the srs light was due to the recall which they fixed & the check engine light wasn't giving any codes so it was all reset. Well they came back on 2day w/ a vengence. & when the vsa & check engine light come on 2gether my car idles up & down from 750 rpm to a 1000 & vibrates some. I'm going crazy !!! Ideas ppl ??

 

Man, your car is fucked up lol. Everytime I open the website it's like you have a new problem. Go get the codes read at your local Autozone and post back here, could be a lot of things.

I hope you didn't buy one of those flooded salvaged cars.

 

In all homesty it drives great I just dont like the lights, I just wanna get ur guys' opinion. if it was seriously fuct i'd get rid of it. I just think it has some random bugs.

 

My '03 did the exact same thing two weeks ago. I took it to the dealer and they said it was the throttle body and they fixed it. The car idles fine now. So it could be that.

 

That's the chance of buying a used car though. You never know what you are going to get. Even it checks out clean on CARFAX there could be work done to it behind closed doors just to sell the car to make a quick buck. Your car sounds like it needs a tune up really badly. Hopefully you have your piggy bank full.

 

You definitely need to get the codes deciphered. The idle problems could be contributed by a bad IACV.

 

Umm, doesn't the dash light up like a Christmas tree when the tranny's about to fall out?

 

Mine did. First the VSA light and then the CEL.

 

I would feel really bad for you if it was the tranny. You may want to do what you mentioned in post #3.

 

VSA light going off and on is NOT normal. The only time mine comes on is if the wheels slip.
