2018 TLX rust issues

Noticed on my 2018 TLX near the rocker panel has scratching with bubbling and tiny rust spots smaller than a pea. I thought newer Acura’s were more rust resistant, not normal that its already starting to rust. Gonna have to go to a body shop since the rust warranty is over. Anyways anyone having rust issues on a 5 year old Acura or newer? Is this normal?

I had the exact same issue on my 2018's passenger side rocker panel. It's likely due to a passenger scratching the panel while getting in or out of the car.
It's an easy fix to prevent the rust from spreading:
1) Get touch up paint that matches the car
2) Get primer paint
3) You need to remove all the rust, to the bare metal (this is important to prevent the rust to return) - Some touch up paints come with a sharp fiber abrasive point that works well for this - or use the tip of an exacto knife
4) After cleaning the area with alcohol, apply primer, and let dry for a few hours (Don't close the door if the door's weatherstripping will interfere with the repair area). Applying primer is critical, otherwise the rust will return, since the paint is only cosmetic and will not protect the bare metal from rust.
5) Apply touch up paint and also let dry.
6) Optional, educate your passenger(s) - will likely not work, from my experience.

Unfortunately I can’t do it myself because I don’t have a garage nor do I have the dexterity to do that properly but I’ll take it to a body shop.
