XM issue

Just on day 2 with the TLX and my XMAS radio stopped working. Maybe an issue with XM having to resend the signal but even on station 01, no preview... I am trying to go to channel 0 to see what the radio ESN is in order to get XM to re-send signal to the car but it will not switch channel. Very strange issue. Anybody else had similar problem?

Maybe it needs to be reauthorized. Give XM a call with your serial #.

XM can look up your TLX's radio by using your vehicle's VIN. Trust me, that's how it was done for me. I wanted to call and have my subscription transferred from my old TSX to the new TLX, but forgot to jot down the radio ID from my TLX that morning. Didn't matter. The service reps at XM can look things up via your VIN as well.

I don't believe we have radio codes any more in the TLX, I think they just use the VIN to identify your radio.

There is a radio code. I provided mine to XM when I signed up for the free trial on the TLX.

When trying to get to the channel 0, make sure you have the radio set to tune channel by channel and not by category. Then simply use the "arrow" button the touch screen to scroll through the channels to get to 0 (I think the touch buttons look like this: << and >>

Yep, tried all this but can not even ear the demo channel, no sound. Appointment with the dealer on Thursday... Dealer had the code and did re-sent to the car but no luck so far... Thanks for feedback.

Could you be referring to the Theft Control radio codes? Seems they no longer give them out automatically like they have done in the past. You have to call in and request them. I guess it's more secure?

Both of my XM codes were on channel 000. It was also in the paperwork I received.

Hmm, I thought my salesman said something about no more radio codes when he was going over the car. But he was give me so much info I can't remember exactly what he said, maybe it was the theft code he was referring to.

Interesting... as I said, I called SiriusXM and had them look up my TLX's VIN to get the radio onto my existing account, so I never even realized that the satellite radio ID is on channel 0. Looks like they're finally starting to ship vehicles with "dual tuner" satellite radios? It used to be that the XM radio id was always on channel 1 and Sirius on 0. The radios in our TLX is branded as "XM" though, not "SiriusXM". Useless knowledge I know, but anyway...

Went to the dealer yesterday and they changed the satellite controller. Sat radio now works so hopefully, this was the issue. We'll see over coming weeks if the issue reappears.

According to Sirius Canada, the tuner is XM only which means I need to set up new account with XM (same company???) and get premium package just to listen to Howard. Can anybody verify this? Is Canadian version different then US?
