Phonebook import stopped working suddenly

I have a 2018 TLX A-Spec (Canada) and an Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra phone. I have had them paired and fully linked for a long time but all of a sudden, a couple of weeks ago, every time I start the car I get a message that says "Unable to Import Phonebook". The Phonebook WAS fully imported and accessible and now it isn't. I did not change phones so what happened? All the phonebook entries are suddenly empty and I cannot re-establish any way to re-import them.

I tried to disconnect and re-connect but that did not solve the problem. So I figured I needed to go further and I deleted the phone completely and re-added from scratch. The phone links again no problem - calls an audio are fine but STILL no phonebook import. And so now I have lost all of my voice tags and speed dials for nothing. I have all the requisite permissions set on the phone. So why did this stop all of a sudden, with no warning?

Curiously, I had the car in for servicing a couple of weeks ago - it had a routine Schedule B Maintenance at my dealer. It was the very next day this problem started so I wonder if something might have been reset/broken during the maintenance? For the life of me I can't imagine what an oil change, brake inspection etc have to do with my hands free link and my phonebook importation? Even though I don't believe in coincidences, but that seems too far fetched. Thought I'd check in here for advice before calling my dealer in case I am missing something fundamental?

I have the same issue although mine involves replacing my previously working S8 with a new S21 and since then, no phonebook import. I've tried deleting and re-adding multiple times. No good.

I haven't seen that many posts on this and the S21 has been out for a while. My first thought was newer Android incompatibilities. I haven't had my car in for service at all, so my circumstances changed because I replaced my phone. Other phones sti paired to the car don't have the issue.

Anyone have something similar?

Well in my case I wasn't replacing anything - the S21 worked perfectly and was fully synched for a year since I got it. It just suddenly stopped. Nothing on the phone end was changed. Nothing on the car end was changed - other than I had in to Acura for a routine maintenance visit. Baffling.

Closing the loop on this one. I received an Android update on my phone and it now works, so I assume the issue was an Android one. Works now.

I hope this works for me… had this issue with my S21 and my ‘18 RDX Tech after a dealer visit earlier this week. The Android update hit me late last night… so I’ll re-pair my phone today… wish me luck.
