Car audio Enthusiasts FYI ANC problem
Car audio Enthusiasts FYI ANC problem
So i upgraded my audio system with components in front and coaxial's in the back and added my L7 kickers with my 2 JL audio amps and LC6i Sound processor to find out that.
Active noise canceling or ANC is a big issue in this TLX. Amplifying the music in the car amplifies the ANC as well. It gave me heavy vibrations during my songs or while i was on the bluetooth. It was VERY obnoxious and annoying. It would only occur when you started driving, however overtime it would go away but would come back. Talked to car audio dealer that installed my car expressed it was the ANC. It's a known problem for honda.
I disconnected the two mics in the car for the ANC and lost bluetooth capability.
PERSONALLY THIS REALLY AGGRAVATES ME. If anyone knows how to disconnect the ANC and still keep bluetooth microphone capabilities this would be greatly appreciated.

You can disconnect the unit. See post number 9 here: https://acurazine.com/forums/acura-i...estion-905459/
So I have a question. The new RLX also has ANC. Unless I missed a thread or two over at the RLX section, I haven't read anything about anyone complaining about their sound quality on an RLX because of the ANC. So, I guess on Accords and TLXs they didn't get it right? Sad.

^ Sounds to me like the Japanese engineers need to share some vital information with their Ohio colleagues... or perhaps the Ohio engineers need to drop their egos and listen to what they have been told already by their Japanese colleagues. One way or another this is a communications issue, or at least it looks like one from a distance.
But, it sounds so good standing still with the engine off. It's a seriously poor system. Acura should have gone to Bose or Sony who have refined their noise cancelling auto audio systems to near audiophile quality. The ELS system is a distractingly disappointing feature of owning this car.

Strange. I could not tell any difference with engine on or off when stationary (apart from the increase in noise floor masking some low level information). I therefore chose not to disconnect ANC. There's no lack of really deep bass in this car, there really isnt. But it is a very lean dry sound thatneeds helping by a little bit of juggling with the tone controls, fader and centre channel level. But it is still "unimpressive" on bass heavy material. And unimpressive on anything less than near perfect source material (and most modern recordings are garbage). There was more thump in my regular TSX before. But the TLX ELS system is far closer to a high grade home system in terms of accuracy, imaging etc. Just gets a bit ragged at higher volume levels when it is running out of steam. The last thing it needs is to be ruined by Sony or Bose tailoring it. The main difference I know with the Krell is better amplification.
