Well at least I won't be looking back when I purchase an Audi now. Lol

This car is so much less sporty than the previous TSX and especially the 3g TL. Better than the new TL but COME ON. this car was hyped up to be the sportiest Acura sedan we've ever seen, what a blatant lie. Bloated panels and no tasteful lines or curves...where is all the "emotion" they can't stop talking about? Seems like the rear decklid and the rear bumper lines were jacked straight off the 3g TL (this was a good idea at least..) and then given IS350 taillights and buick panels/tacky ports/grilles. No exhaust pipes? I mean seriously, this proves that no matter how hard Acura tries to utilize their new design team they'll never be able to bring back the sportiness and unique style they once had...ugh, will not be looking back.

such a beautiful car! what is wrong with some of you people criticizing this! Easily the best Acura design since the 2004 TSX for its time..

If it holds true to the prototype, I know what my next car is gonna be!

Mixed bag for me. The engine sure sounds good though! Video is up on the website.

maybe it's the fact that everyone else is building classy, aggressive Luxury monsters yet Acura can't stop taking style tips from Buick and Lexus...not exactly unique OR interesting, OR "the pinnacle of sport"

If it holds true to the prototype, I don't know what my next car will be but it probably won't be a TLX. Lexus or Honda - the front end on the Accord hybrid looks better to me than the TLX and I'm not saying I love the front end on any of these cars.

That is a nice looking car. However, it does look like a Q50 from the side, doesn't it? And doesn't the nose look like it's added on as an act of self will i.e. "we're going to make people like this nose, dammit!".

I think these guys on here complaining hold their 3G on such a high pedestal and refuse to say any other gen TL looks better. Get off your high horse guys, your 3G is starting to look dated.

I like it. I'm sure they threw in the 2.4 to satisfy the TSX folks. However, isn't this the same 2.4 that is in the ILX? I could have sworn there were complaints about its power and now they throw it in a TLX? I knew the exhaust tips would be gone which to me establishes more of a sporty look with them showing but its not a deal breaker. I have to see the production model in other colors before I decide. I was a late comer to the 4g as didn't like the 09 model. I did end up buying a used 09 4g SH-AWD and now driving the 2013. Believe it or not, this is the first TL(X) I have liked during its introduction. I'm one of the few that did not like the downsizing from the 2g to the 3g, but I did love my 07 TL-S once I decided to try it out. As long as I can afford it, I will be getting the v-6.

So it looks like the prototype will be similar to the production. I do like the LEDs on the side view mirrors.

I'm a fan as well! Good Job Acura! Much better design than the 09-12 TL's!
Now with the TLX GT Race Car does this mean TLX owners will have numerous ways to make their new TLX even faster/sportier?

I love the side profile. Long hood and short trunk. It has very clean and sleek lines. The rear does not look that bad at all without the exposed exhaust tips. The "diffusers" make up for it IMO. Although I prefer exhaust tips. I really hope they make a limited number of 6MTs though. If so, I will be getting the TLX in a couple of years. Prolly MMC.

Car Crazy for Sure!
I did not see or hear any reference to a turbo 2.4! Also....remember....this "prototype" as in all others is "jazzed up" for show. The wheels on the production model most likely will not be 20"....I hope not. And the style of wheel will most likely not be a production wheel. Same thing happened with the intro of the RDX.
Also, this model shown does not have exhaust finishers. I'm a little or a lot disappointed....it could come with them on production models...BUT...remember this...they dropped them from the MDX....the RDX did not come with exh. finishers...so, some logic is telling me they will continue that theme and not have exposed cool looking exhaust finishers. And I will be disappointed in that.
The famous beak. Let's all take a step back and follow "trending" and "brand" recognition." Lexus is doing it with their horribly ugly front grills. Acura is having a similar approach...with their models all having the similar grill piece.
So, for me, to summarize here...everything you see in this launch vehicle most likely will not be seen exactly in the production model.
I am excited to drive the V6 and to feel the power and driving dynamics of this new TLX. I'm into more luxury but with a "kicker." Meaning...strong torque, great ride and handling. Jury is out on the 2.4. Not for me...no matter how "great" it might be. I want the V6 and as someone else has said...I hope it has more than 300 hp...and my guess....it will have. The 9 speed trans will help get it into good gas mileage territory...as well as the direct injection.
So, more to come...what the production model will actually be....the interior...etc.
We STILL have to wait to find out what the TLX will finally look like..power numbers, etc.
The wait continues some more. But, I'm interested...and it will be worth my time to see what it will be...and get my hands on one. My '13 TSX Spec. Ed. just may find a new home later this year! It's a great car, but, this TLX looks like it will be much more of a great car/sedan.
They did seem to blend the dynamics of the TSX and the TL.

Can't please everyone.
Overall, I like it. I have been waiting for this TLX since rumors came out. The wife has the 2014 MDX and I have been holding off on purchasing a sedan for myself. I guess the wait paid off. Let's not only focus on the looks, which has more positive feedback than negative at least based on this thread. The TLX will be available with an 8-speed dual clutch and a 9-speed transmission. 9 gears is actually pretty awesome! I can't wait for my test drive!

i was hoping they would incorporate the electric motor idea like they did with the RLX ... to give it more power..
they gave it a 9 speed transmission..which is great. Acura was late to the game with adding cogs to it's transmissions.. when everyone went to 6 speeds, Acura was still using a 5 speed... when everyone went to 7 speeds, they finally released a 6 speed.. now they leapfrog everyone and put out a 9 speed???
is it going to be a 9 speed that shifts like a DCT? if it shifts just as slow as my 5AT 4G SH-AWD..then I dont' know if it's such a huge improvement?
3.5 V6.. so the engine is smaller than the current SH-AWD.. it better put out quite a bit more power...if the curb weight of the car is close to the current 4G.. we are talking about a 4000 lb car that lost displacmeent. the 3.5L in the RLX makes 310 I believe...so I'm assuming this new V6 is a similar engine.. so we will be seeing hp levels around 310'ish?
maybe this new transmission lets the car rev up faster and take better advantage of the power it has.... creating better acceleratoin through gearing... ??
when the 4G came out I hated it. literally hated it. over time it grew on me and now I actually think the 4G is a nice looking car.. especially dropped and with the body kit. heck I bought one!
but this car - I don't hate. I'm not in love with it, but don't hte it. I think it has some real potential looks wise. with the right wheels, a good stance , ride heigth, underbody spoiler kit.. it could look pretty good for sure!
i'm anxious to see how it performs.

LOL, No kidding the 3G is looking outdated, exactly why Acura really just dropped the ball on giving 3g owners a viable option for a potential next car from Acura. I'm ANXIOUSLY waiting on a new generation sport sedan from Acura that I'd consider and it really sucks to feel so let down by a company that I want to continue to love. I'd do anything to have another Acura but I've driven the new v6 TSX and SH-AWD TL and nothing even comes close to topping the fit/finish of the older Acura's...cheapened panels, spongy ride, no driver feedback, no exhilaration in the models that are even faster than any TL-S...it's all gone downhill, if you can't see it then it must be because you've never owned or cared for one of the older generation V6's. It's the same difference that's been plaguing the newer honda accords, any 04 accord feels like a fun-to-drive tank while the new one's feel like a 4-banger with shiny chrome interior inserts that sound hollow when you close a door
