I think adjusting the settings to get rid of all the service icons would fix that. I do agree with you, it looks too cartoonish.

I like the new Audi display b/c it combines the nav/speedometer into the same space. That way I don't have to turn my head to the right to view that nav, and I can just raise/lower my eyes.

I think the new Genesis has the Germans clearly in their targets. I know the original Genesis was targeting them, but I think it woulnd up competing more with the Japanese brands, now you take HTRAC (40/60 AWD) which clearly is a shot at Audi Quattro and style adding in the tech and style and well, they will probably seel a lot of these. The big ding is they shoudl have spun off a new brand.
BTW they will put the Genesis wing emblem on the front but the Hyundai H on the back. Blech.
I think the display has promise but in that specific configuration it looks busy. I'm sure it can be configured in many ways. I'd rather have a more simple HUD display. But when I test drove the ATS with the HUD it was a little distracting since I kept trying to focus on it. I'm sure I'd get used to it quickly.

I'm digging it, but agree a bit with weather, a bit cluttered, although if you watch the video you can customize what you see. My concern is the lose of the center stack display. I find it useful in my A6 to have one piece of info on the MID dash screen and something else in the center display. Also if it is only on the dash then your passenger would have issues seeing to assist or entering nav info. Having my A6 for almost 5 months and 4K miles I can say Audi is on a roll for a reason. Not a perfect car, but the best ride I have ever owned. Although there is a still a place in my heart for my 08 Type-S

As a person who owned a 2012 Genesis I predict that it will have tech that other cars don't have, it'll be trouble free, rock solid, will be a smart blend of premium materials and cost cutting, and will look great. But it will leave much to be desired in the ride/handling/steering department.
The 2009-2013 Genesis had tech standard that started showing up in other cars years after the launch of the Genesis. I expect the same for Ver. 2. However, Koreans have always thought of cars as appliances and it seems that getting the ride/handling right is the biggest challenge.
Heck, Lexus finally did it with the IS and it took how long?

Of course that gauge is completely customizable. You don't think that the NAV will be there 100% of the time do you?
AFAIK Audi is the first to put the nav and gauges in the same space. And it's ideal. I agree they are on a roll.
And I don't see the cartoonish thing at all. It's a 12.3 inch high res screen. Clean and crisp.

I wonder if it will be a purpose built tube frame race car with a TLX body on it it will be an actual stripped down body-in-white production chassis converted to a race car. Mazda parnered with Riley last year with the Mazda 6's last year in the Grand Am to build a tube frame race car. I believe they also assisted SRT with the new Viper in the ALMS.

I'm thinking this is just to give HPD and RTR something to use, like the DC2 ITR was produced specifically for homologation.
The little series in which they are interested require a certain number of cars on the road configured with the options being used in the race car, although exceptions can be lobbied (like the RTR DC5 rear chassis, and the 6 speed manual in the current J Motor TSX race car).

They already said Tuesday is the release day. The question is whether or not we'll see leaks before then. But with that being only about 3 days away, it doesn't really matter to me. All I know is I'm kicking somebody's ass if this thing doesn't look good.

I'm going to the Houston Auto Show that starts on the 22nd. I hope they bring the car here so I can see it in person. Cars always look different in person.

This far in the TLX I would hope is almost done, if they show only a shell that is sad. It is funny the more I drive my A6 and the more I drive the gf's RDX I realize how lost Acura is. I am not comparing the two directly I am comparing execution. The TLX needs every feature from the RLX and then some.

I've seen the "Wish List" thread and suspect that some, if not most, of the wish list items will not happen. So let's say the TLX averages 50% - 60% on most of the wish lists and that its looks are a 7 or 8 on a 1-10 scale. Who will be among the first to own it? I'll pose this question again after the unveiling on Tuesday.

where is this picture from? is it photoshopped or is this a leaked pic? ... interesting, now that i look back at some of the spy shots from last year this could be it

Seems like this came from this thread on TOV:

I have no idea whether it was a photoshopped thing by the OP there, but I am guessing that it is.

I agree, likely a photoshop.
Even so, I suspect it's likely a very close interpretation of the TLX's front end, fairly non offensive/tamed down chrome, yet very "RLX-ish" and "ILX-ish." I'd much prefer if the new NSX grill trickled down to the TLX.
We'll find out in 2 days!

^^(VQPower) You're right. If the profile is bold and aggressive, it could really be a hot looking car. I just want it to look bad a** and have a hunkered down muscular look to it............and have the guts (powertrain) to back it up.

My reason is that it seems like a step backwards. We all loved the 3G but its time to let it go. This reminds me of a 3G with Jewel Beam headlights. I don't care to go backwards.

I am getting really anxious to see this TLX! I am in Montreal/Ottawa this week for a work related trip then will be coming back on a personal trip the week after for the Montreal car show. I am wondering if they'll bring a TLX here like they did with the RDX back in 2012.
