HELP! How do I clean the rust?







just noticed this on my car and I had it for 2 months now fml..how do I clean this.. or take it off, what is this part called anyway?

That is not rust, it is an oxidized coating that develops over time. It has been specifically designed in by the engineers of the car to add color to your brake rotors.

What year is your car? 2009? That was a common problem and I believe you can take it to the dealership and they can clean and repaint them.

Just get a wire wheel and attach it to a drill and go to town.

I just painted mine with VHT caliper paint. This is after having mine replaced courtesy of Acura Canada.

Just like the guys said above, get a wire wheel for a drill or just a wire brush (<<last resort) to clean it up before you paint it. I've also seen some nickel coating at autoparts stores and walmart, but that is in a spray can so you'll want to take the rotors off so that you dont get the overspray on the car. The caliper paint is nice because you can brush it on, and (for the ricer in you) it does come in various colors.
