TPMS question

My front left tire pressure is slightly higher than the other tires. I went to a local tire shop to check it out, the tech says its normal. What do you guys think? Is it normal to have one tire pressure higher than the other?

That's normal, and it's almost impossible to get them to match.

If the same tires are always low the day after you even them out....

Thanks for the quick reply guys. I've owned this car for 3 months, the front left tire pressure always higher than the other (approx. 2-3 psi higher). Since yesterday after i brought it to the tire shop, the differences are increased (4-5 psi higher). Should i even them out? or just ignore it?

You can try, preferably after the car has cooled down, maybe first thing in the morning.Very difficult for them to stay that way though.

I'm not sure that wide of a variance is necessarily normal. My gauge reads the same pressure for all four tires and if they vary they don't by more than 1 lb. You may want to check the pressures with a handheld pressure gauge.

You want the front tires to have 35 - 37 psi.
And the rear tires to have 32 - 34 psi.
Check them before you take your first drive and add to the front that is lower then the other.

If the readout continues to show 36 psi when a manual reading via a gauge shows 31-32 like the other tires, you might want to have the front right tire TPMS sensor reset. I've seen Discount Tire do this. The dealer may also be an option if the car is under warranty.

I would think variation of 1 psi would be within specs, but not 3-4 psi.

^on the 3G TL, you can tell if the sensor goes bad...
it'll read 58psi.

OP, physically check with a tire gauge.
and add or subtract air if needed.

Remember, its getting cooler.
cooler air contracts.
which will lower the air pressure in the tire.

36 31 is not normal. cold reading or warmed up. Fill in air and buy a tire pressure gauge to help you get the PSI's even on each side. You can let excess air out of the tpms with the gauge as needed to get your psi's to match

Manual states AWD should have 37 front and 32 rear.

^ Owner's manual states 37 psi in the front tires only on vehicles equipped with HPT (High Performance Tires), otherwise it's 32 psi all around.
