Turn signal lever problems

Hey fellow 4gers. I've had my pre owned base tl for two days now and noticed something funny. It seems like my lever for the turn signal isnt as strong on the right side as it is on the left. For instance when I turn on the right turn signal it locks into place for the signal to keep going but it does not lock as securely as the left side. It is very easy to knock back into the neutral zone as opposed to the left side. I'm not sure if I'm describing this situation as well as possible.

And I did a search but I only found like a million posts about turn signals and LEDs and turbo signals lol so sorry if this is a repost

Exact same problem

I have a 2010 and have exactly the same problem. I will note that the problem diminished a bit after a months time but you can still feel the difference between the left and right sides. I don't have a solution to offer. Sorry.

If it is still under warranty, take it to the dealer. They will replace with no questions asked.

Sorry I didn't throw in more info. Car is 2010 42k miles. It is still under warranty and I purchased extended warranty to cover for the next few years. I will definitely bring it in. Hopefully they don't give me a hard time

They shouldn't give you any problems, especially since you've owned the car for less than a week.

Good luck.

It functions, but not properly. After turning the wheel back, it doesn't turn off. Does that qualify?

I had the same problem with mine last year and took it in (under warranty), and they fixed it with no questions.

I had the same problem and lived with it until it would not hold any further. I got a new switch. Mine was out of warranty thus I had to pay for it. It was about $150.

Just got my car serviced at Piazza Acura by Philly. They were great. Gave me an ilx to drive for the day and washed my car for me.

They replaced the turn signal lever for free. I'm so happy now because I can finally install my flashback LEDs now. I didn't want to install them before I brought my car into service because I was afraid they may blame the defect on aftermarket parts

I had the same problem on a 2010 TL SHAWD. Car was about 3 months old and the turn signal wouldnt catch when signalling for right turns. I had to hold it down while steering one-handed. The left side was fine though. The dealer replaced a switch under warranty.

The weird thing is that while this seems to be a prevalent issue, most people are seeing it around 3 - 4 years. Mine went bad after 3 months.

I'm in a 2010 TL and have the same Blinker issue. Took her into the dealer for an oil change yesterday and asked them to have a look at it. They are replacing it.... I was even given a loaner since they needed to order the part. Should have it back today.

Interesting. I have a 2010 with 70,000 km. Will have to be super sensitive and watch for this. BTW, do you slam the switch roughly to signal? These things are relatively fragile.

i got it replaced yesterday i was 1 mile before i hit 50K they changed it everything is good now and im gentle when using it the funny thing is i ignored it until i saw this thread i figured new car aint noithing wrong.. turns out my right was not holding into place and overtime it just became natural to keep holding it when i turn. my next step is the little rust on the rotors in the rear.. but i dont think that is covered smh thats my next project though.. i above all i must say i love this car.
