Simple Question on Oil removal

Oil filter slipped when I changed it, got oil all over the R wheel suspension. I was just going to degrease it with the standard spray can stuff. However the smell usually drives me crazy. I degreased an engine in my old CRX a long long time ago and I still smell it in my sleep.
Anyone have any quick recommendation for a better oil removal product?

Legitimate question...not trying to be a smartass, but aside from some potential short term dripping, does it really need to be cleaned? What's the harm? Eventually, I suspect with car washing, it'll get mostly clean anyway, won't it?

simplegreen.com works for me. But unless the oil gets somewhere in the engine bay that gets hot (i.e. cats), I really don't bother.

I wipe it off as best I can and use brake cleaner for the rest. Once brake cleaner evaporates there is no cleaner residue or smell. Brake cleaner was developed to evaporate completely. I absolutely recommend using cleaner to remove oil on exhaust parts.

Or after wiping you can leave alone and let road dust soak up the rest.

Brake cleaner works the best. Be sure to apply some Honda Shin Etsu grease to any rubber that you may have sprayed to keep it safe from the elements.

Brake cleaner is pretty amazing for cleaning, but I'd just wipe off the excess with an old shop rag. I assume that brake cleaner is pretty toxic stuff and try to use as little of it as possible.
