Need Help With An Issue

I own a 2009 TL SH-AWD. My passenger side is constantly emitting the radio frequency for the key fob. When I walk by the door handle with the key fob in my pocket, my car skitzes out and continually locks and unlocks until I'm out of range. I placed the key fob directly next to the door handle and the red light stays on (blinks) continuously. I did this to the left side and the red light remained off. Also, the black button on the door handle to lock the car doesn't work. I'm now thinking this is related.

I'm asking for help identifying what it could be and also if it's a simple fix or something I need a mechanic to check out. I can and likely will live with it!

Thanks!

do you have another key fob? If you do, use that one and see if it does the same thing.

It is possible that the black button on the faulty door side is shorting out electrically, thereby causing the door locks to lock/unlock/lock/..... continuously.

Yep, I'm betting either the capacitive sensor on the inside of the door handle or the button is damaged and is continuously firing off when he walks by.
