Fog+Headlights turn off when signaling after HID Fog Install

So this happened twice already. I just installed HID fogs (35w slim ballasts from HIDeXtra.com). It happens when I use my turn signal. The lights just turn off (both headlights and both fogs). I have to turn the switch off then back on for the lights to turn back on. It's not the fuse cause I can immediately turn the lights back on... The install is correctly done, I've done multiple HID installs before for lots of different cars. First time I've ever had this issue. Does anyone know what's going on?

It doesn't happen all the time. I've done some tests (trying to use the max amount of lights as possible) but that doesn't trigger it either. Hazard blinkers don't trigger it, break lights + blinkers or reverse + brake + hazards... Nothing. Seems to be random, but related to signaling. Both time it's happened was when I just turned on the turn signal. It's a 2012 3.5L w/ Tech.

best advice.. use a relay kit.. that way the power draws from the battery and will fire up the HID ballast every single time..

ive had that issue in the past where the car would not fire 4 ballast all at once when you want it to.

Alright, I'll look into a relay kit. They've been all firing normally, just this weird issue. It hasn't been happening since that day though, I'll keep an eye out. I run my headlights and fogs all the time, maybe it was a heating issue or something.

Just ordered one. I'll install it along w/ my switchback install.

Thanks. I was worried that I would have to run a new switch to turn on the fogs. I didn't know about Relay kits.

You definitely should run a relay. The 12 volts that turn on the fog comes directly from a MCL or whatever that chip is called. You could fry it. I do not recommend connecting any non OEM lamps to that plug.

Yeah, ordered that as soon as PotMilkz recommended it. Just gotta figure out how I'm gonna feed the wires through to keep it looking pretty in the engine bay.

I have similar issues with it turning off but its not my headlight or fogs. My switchbacks will turn off and I would have to turn it back on by shutting off the light off then back on. How did you solve this problem/
