Hey Guys...

Just wondering... if anyone else is experiencing rattle sounds from the dashboard area? I took my car back 4 times and they still can't fix it... They changed out Nav/Radio harness and the rattle is still there... grrrr It's sounds as if your crumbling paper....that's the wonderful irritating sound.....

 

no rattles here, however a couple weeks after I took delivery I thought for sure I heard something on the passenger side of the car - turned out I had a box of altoids in the cubby under the sound system and it sounded like it was coming from the other side of the car

 

Had sunroof rattle on my '09/TL/FWD; drove me nuts!

1st day I drove it home, heard a strange squeak; turned out to
be DVD/A cases in my door panel holders; WHEW!

 

I have an annoying rattle coming from the let side of the steering column. They get to look at it next Friday...

Do a search and you'll find you're not alone.

I had the rattles in my 2011, but there is enough info out there to help you. Whining doesn't help. Use the knowledge from other and get it fixed. Without tape!

 

TIny.... ahhh DUH..... I searched high and low for the rattle i'm talking about and NOTHING.... that is why i posted..... Whining... you bet! This crap started from day 2 of ownership! I've owned 05,08,09,12 TL and the 12 TL... and out of the TL's i've owned this is the worst with the rattle.... I even owned a 08 MDX, 10 ZDX and never had any issues...

I have a 2012,rattles from glovebox and front passenger area started about a month in ownership.

 

Yes, because I had the rattles and stuff and was able to find enough threads.
I know thise threads are here, and instead of posting a stupid answer you could've done a search as well, smartass!

And a 2012 is a 2009 with a different chassis and a 6th gear, inside it's still the same more or less. OK, let me waste my time for you, so I did something helpful compared to you:

The 2012 is only a Mid-Model-Cycle update of the 4G TL, and not a Full-Model-Cycle update. So the 2012 chassis and the 2009 chassis are exactly identical.

I also hear rattles 2 months into ownership of my '12 TL AWD - Anyone have success gettign rid of them - Noise is coming form the left side of dash - lower side when going over cobble stones - very irretating ! Anyone have any solutions ? any luck going back to the dealership ?

 

They told me they couldn't hear it... Funny, I heard it the entire test drive with the tech. I will push the issue with the service manager when I have more time.

 

Doesn't the volume knob fix all rattles?

I hate rattles, made my gf ride upside down in my CR-V to find one under the dash, turned out to be wires popped out of a clip.

She insists I can hear things that no one else can

 

Had the same thing two weeks ago...mine was Tic-Tacs. Nice feeling when you figure it out.

 

I just picked up a 2012 TL AWD TECH with 8km and immediately noticed a rattle from passenger side. I haven't spent a whole lot of time in the car yet and I plan to look into it when I have more time over the next few days. Other than that, the car is pretty awesome.

 

I too ocasionally here a rattle on a bumpy road coming from the passenger side. Almost as if ther are some keys in the door compartment or something, but its empty. So frustrating because even though its ocasionally the car is brand new 3 weeks old and its a 45k dollar car...

 

The way I deal with rattles and squeaks is to have a friend driving my car around and I will be in the passenger seat searching/hearing around and trying to figure out where the noise comes from. Once noise located
, I attemp to fix by seein if anything comes loose in that area. At last if I can't figure it out then I bring it to the dealer. My experience with bringing the car to dealer straight after hearing some rattle never turns out good because they usually will remove and reinstalls panels/parts where they suspect the noise is from. That often creates even more rattles and squeaks later on. So I would find out where it is causing a noise and point it to the dealer and have them focus on it. Just my $0.02

(my rattle from passenger side was caused by the seat belt level adjuster, I moved it up and down and now I don't hear the rattle as often. Hopefully, that's solved)
