oil levels are perfect. do an oil change everytime the car asks for one..

Are you a diy'er? Take off the drive belt and start it again ( when its cold of course). Just for less than a min. There's ton of possibilities with just sound clips.
Acura/honda are prone to have drive belt tensioner go bad. Heard easily in the cold weather and dissappear when the bearing gets hot.

111k miles. would the valves really be that loud? as far as the DIY, yea i can handle that. I will try it out tomorrow and see. its really hard to track the noise down though, but it does seem to be coming from the valvetrain. my wife had the car for a while, but she can't recall if the timing belt was done or not so im thinking of doing that as well.

Valvetrain noise does not go away when engine gets warmer. There's not enough heat at the rocker arm to expand metal , closing the gap clearance. Unless your using a super heavy weight oil, say 40-50w. Which when the engine is hot, the oil had reached to this thick viscosity and somewhat reduce the noise.
Go to harborfreight and pick up a stethoscope for 5 bucks and play doctor. You'd be surprise how simple you can pinpoint the problem..

Timing belt ever been done on this? I
Sounds like it could be three different things to me. Either not enough tension in the serpentine belt, easy way to diagnose this is pull on the belt with your hand. If you can move the belt pretty freely then your tensioner is going. If it's not that then maybe your timing belt is going.
Basically there's a hydraulic tensioner which presses onto another tensioner for the belt. They start to leak from the head of the hydraulic tensioner which has it's own oil in there.
How many kilometers or miles?

Finally got it repaired. It was the hydraulic tensioner indeed. It sounded so bad because the belt actually jumped one tooth! Luckly no serious damage to engine. Ended up getting a great kit on ebay, all honda genuine parts for around $400 with spark plugs, bearings, and all seals
