You won. The car did its job protecting the occupant, it can be repaired or replaced.

Ouch! It's always a good thing when you can out of these things unhurt though.

it was actually just one rather small deer. from what im assuming, after it hit my front right quarter panel/bumper it basically rolled down the side of my car in mid-air. there is a hole that punctured the right rear door where im assuming the antler hit. the deer was actually alive and standing on its own. it wouldnt move by itself though and tipped over when trying to scare it away so it had to be dispatched. body shop quoted about $7k

WOW...and OUCH!! Luckily you managed to get out OK overall, deer are so much better to hit than a moose. The problem with a deer is they bolt out in front of you so fast that there is little you do but at least, the end result is not a fatality. Moose on the other hand, not forgiving at all! I am amazed that only 7K was the estimate for the repairs. I would hate to have my car repaired as the paint job is never as good as an original paint plus it makes the car depreciate when you have to trade it in. But its only material and as others have said, at least you weren't hurt.

Wow that looks like a lot of damage, I would guess 15k. 7k seems a little low, might be a good idea to get some more estimates from reputable shops. Glad you are safe!

I have been noticing more deer roaming in my back yard, I hope they don't go on the roads.

Glad your OK! I have worked for years as an insurance adjuster and prior to that as a body shop manager. As weird as that looks with the front and rear damage, I have seen it happen MANY times! When you hit the deer, it spins them around and they can go all the way down the side of a vehicle.

could have been a lot worse. i saw a black 4G TL at the body shop a few weeks ago that was in for deer damage according to the manager. the entire front end on the driversside was crushed. luckily it was above the area of the subframe. front bumper, front quarter panel crushed.

all that from a friggin deer. eek!
