UR Pulley?

Hi All,

I know a couple of you bought UR pulleys, but have any of you had them installed yet?

Do you go with the stock diameter or the underdrive?

If you went with the underdrive pulley, have you noticed any issues?

If you have either, did you notice any power gains?

Thanks!

Underdrive should only free up about 1hp more then Stock size.... I stuck with stock size, still yet to install mine...

Hey Blackura, where did you come up with that additional 1HP number? I know on many other cars, the underdrive pulleys can free up a ton of power (my brother in law's E55 AMG went from 469HP to over 500HP with K&N air cleaners and an underdrive pulley).

Why does the UR underdrive pulley produce such minimal results on the TL?

Nooo... what i meant was the Ur Lightweight will free up quite a few hp (stock size) and the Underdrive only frees up a 1-2hp more , then the stock sized lightweight one

On the 3G TL, the OEM crank pulley is like 8-9lbs... the UR is just under 2lbs

On the 4G TL, the OEM crank pulley is like 5-6lbs, so the gains we're expecting to see wont be as dramatic, as on the 3G.. i know when i installed the pulley on both my 3Gs, the engine revved up MUCH quicker, and "free-er"

Just had mine installed today. I'll be doing some driving later and will give my impressions.

I got mine from Josh at excelerate. (http://store.excelerateperformance.com/). Josh is very knowledgeable and his service is excellent.

My initial impression of performance with the stick size UR pulley installed are pretty good...

The car seems to not only spin up somewhat quicker, but it also feels smoothers as well (although I did have my oil changed yesterday as well). Overall responsiveness seems improved as well.

Hey Big, so basically you installed the UR stock size pulley which is basically a lighter version than the stock piece? Did you install yourself?

I'm interested in installing the P2R TB Spacer and this pulley......which one provided better performance in your opinion?

Thanks,
Travis

Hi Travis,

I had Josh at excelerate install all of my mods...

In my experience, the pulley had more of an impact on performance. The car definitely seems to get up to speed quicker. I haven't dyno'd anything though, so I could be nuts. But on the same day I had my pulley installed, a buddy of mine brought his TL in for an intake, spaker, IMG, and the pullery and he was shocked at the difference they all made in the car's performance.

The e55 is supercharged so i am guessing it spins the blower more and creats more boost. usually the pulley and a tune make over 500hp on e55.
