Hey guys,

I just renewed today. Like everyone here, I just said I wanted to cancel due to price (fully knowing they will offer me a good deal if I say that and will bite own it). Then they immediately offered the $77/year deal for xm radio and then I said I got a mail for 38.85 for xm everything for 3 months do you guys still have that? Then the csr said yes do you want to do that? I said, well, I also had xm traffic before do you guys have any good deals on that too? Then csr put me on hold for a long time and then she came back with $59.95 for a full year of xm everything and then $47.88 for xm traffic for a full year for a total of $107.83!!! So I bit on it, and I said ok that works.

I think I got a good deal and if so I hope the above story helps you all.

So, I guess if you want XM Traffic, you'll have to take XM Radio Service...

DO NOT FORGET TO CANCEL YOUR SUBSCRIPTION WHEN YOU REALLY DO WANT TO STOP!!!
It will renew automatically even if you are not on credit card billing and you will owe them from the date your subscription runs out until you actually call and cancel. I now owe them 2 months even though I did not use it. These people are horrible. They will turn you over to collections. I will NEVER use this service again!!

Thanks for the heads-up. Just renewed for $77 a month, but it doesn't include Best of Sirius. Is any getting Best of for $77 a month? Has anyone been able to add BoS to the promo plan? The customer service person said I couldn't add to the promo.

I hope that was a typo; that you aren't paying $77 A MONTH!

Just called in and said it was too expensive and I wanted to cancel, however, if they would offer $77 again, I would continue the service...and they did.

I noticed all these postings are from 2008. My trial XM is expiring on Wednesday. Should I call them today or wait until it expires on Wednesday to get the $77/year deal?

Only the first 3 or 4 posts are from December 2008. The rest are 2009 up to today.

If you read Post #1 on Page #1, your question will be answered in detail.

FIRST: Call to make sure they are not automatically going to renew your trial period.

THEN: follow the script in Post #1.

Testing the waters...

There have been many posts about successful $77 deals, which is phenomenal! but... a lot of people have said they could have gone lower but no one has posted saying if they tried it and worked or didn't.

I just signed up for the 3 month free trial (which was super easy and didn't give them any credit card info) and I'm going to try lower than $77 just to see if that works.

If not, then $77 is perfect!

lol.. their margin is high and their financial woes are unrelated.. If they pulled in a larger market at $77 they would probably rebound. Don't be mad you paid more.. but seriously.. DVD-A's for me.. don't hardly spend enough time in either car to justify $77 / year, heck I don't even have cable.. lol.

I'm actually pissed at XM.. My bill is $77/quarter; I went to listen online today and I was denied.. They no longer offer free online radio, BUT, I can pay $2.99 [if im eligible] and listen online

So after a few curse words in my mind I said fine wtf.. Enter my info, and im not eligible for it

What makes it worse a while back took a car off the XM plan after it had renewed, they couldn't refund me - but - "don't worry sir, you'll be able to enjoy XM for 3 more months!"

ISOLDTHEFUCKINGCARSTUPIDXM

Yeah they totally suck but i'm stuck so :shrugs:

Guess i'll call and get the $77 a year deal.. assholes.

ahh that sucks.. moronic patronizing undermining assholes.. I have an online acct that my coworker gave me access too.. I listen now & then.. mostly to news & comedy.. I start rolling in my office when listening to comedy, kinda funny when the office is pretty dead quiet, especially after lunch and you hear me *kr*ka*hm*hehe.. well your story has definitely swayed me from ever doing business with them.. I'm guessing their poor excuse of customer service is one of the reasons they're going down the tube.

Completed Successfully, although all done in one step. I told them I wanted to cancel because it was too expensive. They then gave me the option to stay for $77 for one year, all in one call!!

The $77 deal still works, but I had to call 800-682-4114 to get the deal because when I called the CSR number on the letter I received, I could only get one year for $140.

I have two radios on XM (one in the TL and a second portable for the other car/home) and the renewal was for $12.95/month for the first and $8.99/month for the second. Followed the script said I wanted to cancel and they first offered me a $9.99/month on the primary radio. Said still too expensive and they came through with the $77/year on each radio. Took it and set for another year. Thanks Acurazine!

just got it for $77/yr

its sets to auto renew at $142/yr after first yr is over, so it is important to call and "cancel" to continue getting $77/yr

All I said was I got a letter in the mail offering $77/yr and she was sold -- seemed like i coulda said $10/yr and she woulda gave it to me.

Sorry, there are so many posts to go through and I am not sure if this has been asked or not. I just got a 2009 TSX w/ Tech and wanted to use the $77 deal but I also want to keep traffic and weather. Does anyone know the yearly price with those services? Does the deal still work then?

Thanks!

^^ traffic is like an additional $4/month .... this is an offer given to folks who previously had XM and this was an offer to bring them back as a customer.

If you're new customer, it may be more difficult cuz they know you're bullshitting and that u didn't get a letter.

Well thanks Acurazine for saving my hard earned cash. 4th year in a row, $77. Question--during my hold time, it advertised 'Best of Sirius" for $2/month. Anybody taken advantage at that price w/ the $77 year?? The CS rep said I can't take advantge of that becuase of the special deal pricing.

My wife's trial on her Ody just expired and we got a card in the mail for $4.99 for 6 months. My TL's is going to expire next week. I'm going to see if I can renew both for $60 a year each. If not, I'd settle for the $77 but no more. You never know until you ask.

Yeah, I've been here a while, just haven't had the time to sit down and read/contribute. Acurazine is great though because I can do a quick search to find great tips on detailing, XM, and maintenance.

Smile XM Radio for $77 since 2003

I received the XM Radio renewal noticed dated May 14th for $38.85 per quarter.

I called XM at 1.866.553.5425. Spoke to the representative. Explained that I received an invoice, but would like to cancel my service. Phone call transferred. Spoke to a second representative.

XM: Mr. Benson… I am being told that you want to cancel your service.
DB: Yes, that is correct.

XM: I can offer you the rate of $77 just like last year.
DB: Thank You.

XM Radio $77 per year since 2003.

Thanks Acurazine !!!
