My turn again. I called for my 3rd renewal. She asked if I wanted to renew. I said It depends on what the renewal rate is. She then told me how great it was that my credit card was on file and the renewal fee would automatically be charged to it. Then asked me if I wanted to renew again. I said how much? She says " $164.25 for a year. "what you had last year was a promotional rate". I said "I can't handle that, I'm going to have to cancel". She says we can give you 4 months for $44. I said "thats not really saving me much, I'll just cancel". She says, " I'll have to put you through to someone who can help you". So I hold for 10-12 minutes someone picks up and she wants to know why I wish to cancel. I say "the renewal rate is something I can't handle". She says " How about if we give you the same rate you had last time ($77 year). I say "If you can do that I'm in".

All you need is patience to play the game. I wonder how many are paying $164

Then she was like. since i have you on the phone, how about 6.99 for 3 months. I kinda thought about it and was going to do it but i still kinda hesitated and then she said.. well. i have this other package for 5 months for 19.99 and then i was like. SOLD! sign me up. so i got that on the first try. woot woot!! the script works!

I had to renew, and wanted $77/year but they were asking for $77+$11 royalties.

I tried calling multiple times each speaking to a supervisor, but to no avail...i guess just my luck....but anyways last time I just accepted the royalty fee. We'll see how it goes next year, i bet they are on to this thing and started implementing bogus "royalties", my bet is that the royalties will jump to some like $15 next year.

I also asked for invoice so i can pay by check so they dont have my credit card info. Beware they dont tell you but, there is a invoice fee of like $2, asked for it to be waived.

I must not be lucky either-I had to pay the $77.00+royalty fees. When I looked at my bank statement I saw they charged me $99.68. I called to tell them that amount was wrong and to either credit my account or I would cancel. I was told the additional charge was for sales tax. They finally agreed to credit my account for those charges

I bought my TL a few months ago so I was a new xm customer. I called the 800# in the first post and got the 5 for 19.99. Was on the phone for less than 5 minutes.

It took 4 calls, but I finally got the $77 rate + 'royalty fees' and tax. It was tougher than in past years, though this is the 4th year I've gotten the $77 rate....
